Why Suffer From Pain? Many people experience neck or back pain at some point in their life and this pain may take many forms. It may be short-lived or long-lasting, mild or severe. Since your pain is unique, a pain management treatment plan must be tailored to address your individual needs. Trident Pain Center offers a variety of services. Some drugs are general pain relievers, while others target specific types of pain. Most pain drugs require a prescription and careful monitoring to avoid the possibility of dependency or abuse. Our providers at Trident Pain Center will make sure you are well informed regarding any medications you are prescribed, the appropriate way to take the medication, and any other medications or activities you should avoid while taking your prescription. It is important to be open and honest with your doctor about any medications you are currently taking, as well as any other health conditions you may have. PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING Chronic pain affects you not only physically, but emotionally, financially, and socially. Psychological counseling enables you to cope more effectively with pain and depression as well as help you with interpersonal relationships that may be adversely affected by chronic pain. Behavioral therapy can assist with returning you to optimal daily functioning; and may include stress management, behavioral adaptation, education, and relaxation techniques. Psychological counseling may also lessen the amount of medication needed to manage your pain, change your perceptions about levels of pain and disability, and even lift depression. MASSAGE THERAPY Trident Pain Center offers a unique blend of massage therapy techniques (including deep tissue, neuromuscular and myofascial release) which enhance body function, helping to alleviate a broad range of pain and dysfunction. Our massage therapists are highly trained in medical massage and work with our providers to manage your pain, allowing you to further participate in muscle strengthening and conditioning programs to provide more long-lasting relief.
