Joyfulomyoga with Genise Creating joyful energy through gentle movement, breath and awareness. It is where I find my breath and calm amidst challenging moments.

I have been practicing various “limbs” or forms of yoga for over 20 years, and I have been a registered yoga teacher (RYT) for 6 years. While trained in Hatha, Ashtanga, Gentle and Yin Yoga, Yin is that medicine that counterbalances a highly structured, intense way of living for me. When I am not practicing yoga, enjoying good eats, or reading mostly nonfiction books, taking long walks along the various coastlines of the Lowcountry brings me great joy! Certifications/Training

Namaste, joyful gems! It's Feel Good Friday ✨ In the Yoga Sutra, the wise teacher Patnajali explains that the capital “I” is the True Self. The little “i” is the distorted image of the True Self, known as the ego. The dot above the little “i” represents all the imperfections, turmoil and difficulties we tend to experience as humans. The mind, or the mirror, would have us believe that the ego--the turmoil, imperfections, and difficulties--is who we are. BUT, Patanjali says, with time, awareness, patience, and dedication to our yoga practice, we erase distortion. We erase the dot. Namaste.
