The National Alliance on Mental Illness Charleston Area is an organization that values all members of the family affected by mental health disorders. We provide programs for both the family members and individuals with a mental health condition, all of those who seek support, education, and advocacy. Our support groups are designed to deliver constructive and compassionate assistance to people in need.

Welcome one of our new board members, Katie Grundl!

Katie joined the Charleston board of National Alliance on Mental Illness in April 2026 with a strong commitment to improving access to mental health services across the tri-county area. She is passionate about education, advocacy, and advancing initiatives that better serve the Lowcountry community.

Katie holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. In addition to her work with NAMI, she is a business owner and operates a boutique private practice in Charleston.

A wife and mother, Katie enjoys spending time outdoors and staying actively engaged in her community. She is dedicated to helping create a future where mental health care is accessible and individuals are fully supported in receiving the care they need.
