Fibroids affect millions of women, yet for many, the conversation begins only after years of symptoms.

Heavy bleeding. Pelvic pressure. Fatigue. Disruption to daily life. Too often, these experiences are minimized or normalized.

National attention can help change that.

We’re grateful to see foundationforwomenshealth raising awareness and increasing visibility of a condition that affects millions of women.

Effective treatments do exist, but awareness and access remain significant gaps.

Women’s health matters.
Informed conversations matter.
Every woman deserves to know her options.

Thank you, , for continuing to bring national attention to fibroids and the women living with this often invisible burden.

These conversations are not easy, but they are essential. When awareness increases, stigma decreases, and more women feel empowered to ask questions about their health.

Fibroids affect the majority of women by age 50, yet they remain underdiscussed and underfunded. Movements like are helping shift that reality.

Greater awareness must lead to better education and better conversations about care.

Every woman deserves to know her options.

Black women are often affected by fibroids earlier and more severely.

Research shows that up to 80% of Black women may develop fibroids by age 50. Many develop fibroids at younger ages and experience more significant symptoms over time.

Understanding the data helps patients make informed decisions about their care and can make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Minimally invasive treatments like Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) may provide relief without surgery.

We recently shared more about this important topic on our blog.

If Dr. Adam McLaurin weren’t an interventional radiologist, he might be exploring graphic design, diving into biomechanical engineering, or spending his days as a professional cyclist 🚴

What Dr. McLaurin loves most about interventional radiology is its ability to change lives in meaningful ways, often without the need for major surgery. He’s passionate about minimally invasive treatments that help patients regain comfort, mobility, and confidence, and he especially enjoys helping women with fibroids and adenomyosis explore options that preserve both quality of life and choice.

For Dr. McLaurin, the most rewarding part of his work is seeing patients who once felt discouraged leave feeling hopeful and more like themselves again.
