“My mind never shuts off.” That's what she told me when we first started working together in September. This is something I hear all the time.
Her thoughts spiraled constantly. Her body stayed tight. Her heart raced. Even when she tried to rest, there was this internal urgency, like she had to keep moving just to stay afloat. She understood herself deeply. She could explain why she felt the way she did. And still… her system felt stuck in overdrive.
And that’s the part that’s so frustrating, isn’t it?
Knowing why you feel this way, but not actually feeling better.
She tried managing it cognitively. Talking herself through it. Making sense of it. But the mental noise, emotional pressure, and physical activation kept looping. There was very little space to feel grounded or present. Her body wasn’t asking to be fixed. It was asking for a different kind of support.
So we slowed everything down and worked with her nervous system. Consistent somatic coaching, hypnosis, anchoring, and custom audios for support between sessions. Nothing forced. Nothing rushed. Just giving her system the chance to feel safe enough to settle.
And with this steady support, everything shifted.
In today's session, she shared that she feels “more calm,” “more present,” and has “way less unnecessary thoughts.” Her heart doesn’t race the same way. When she starts to feel activated, she can notice it and respond instead of spiral. She told me it’s “hard to explain in words,” but that she feels “very different than when we started.” Emotions move through her now without overwhelm. Gratitude lands. Peace feels accessible. Her body trusts itself again.
This is what becomes possible when you stop trying to think your way out of what your body is holding.
When you create the conditions for your nervous system to no longer live on high alert.
If any part of this feels familiar, you’re not broken.
Your body is communicating.
