Excuse my drop off outfit but I'm done with the aesthetic of the "wellness industry"... It's problematic in so many ways.
No, yoga is not about matching sets, sweating and weight loss.
No, a massage will not solve all of your problems.
Wellness tools are not for self indulging they are here to help you show up in a world that needs our best foot forward.
I've been struggling a lot lately as a health practitioner with the sales aspect of the wellness brands, whether it's supplements or yoga clothes or just selling our work in general.
The goal is for my clients to feel more connected to themselves and spirit to be able to walk out into the world more connected to others.
I'm sick of the diet culture and the ever changing target of what wellness means. More protein, fiber, plants. We get it, eat more vegetables...
No amount of breathwork facilitating or nutrition coaching will fix the hyper-individualistic consumption of "wellness".
It is not something that is bought, it's practiced, every day.
Yes, we want you to come into the studio to reboot. Everyone deserves to feel pampered and taken care of. Taking a break from the day to day is important, yet we cannot always be chasing the escape.
If your wellness practices are not translating into your daily life, let's rethink what wellness truly means.
