We had such a great afternoon during our most recent taste of the season, thanks to resident Dolores S. and her daughter Paula sharing their family favorite Fall River Chow Mein Sandwich recipe, stories, and history of the infamous Fall River Chow Mein Noodles on top. Nothing beats gathering together to enjoy good food, family and friends!

As we celebrated our Veterans here at Autumn Glen today, we took time to pause, reflect, and say two simple but powerful words: THANK YOU! We were reminded that Veterans Day is not just another day on the calendar-it is a living reminder of what service, honor, and love of our country truly means.
To all Veterans everywhere THANK YOU for your service! We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your bravery, your sacrifice and for protecting our freedom that you have helped to defend.

What a week! Our community was full of festive trick or treaters, making for loads of laughs and memorable good times!
We enjoyed a visit and costume parade with Mrs. Ferreira's 4th grade class from Potter School, a pop in visit from Bristol Hospice and an epic Annual Autumn Glen Costume Party to celebrate this festive season. We wrapped up the week with a resident Halloween/Birthday luncheon outing at Turk's in Mattapoisett!
Many thanks to all our residents, associates, families and community friends for making this year's Halloween Season such a great time!

It's almost time to turn back our clocks! ⏰

Daylight Savings Time ends this Sunday, November 2. For most of us it means an extra hour of sleep but for a senior in your life, there could be other challenges to navigate.

Join us in Congratulating our Associate of the Month Mary D!
Mary was nominated because she is always upbeat, thoughtful and ready to go the extra mile to lend a hand in any given situation. Mary is one of our veteran housekeepers who consistently works to help keep our community clean and inviting for our residents, associates and visitors. She takes pride and care in everything she does. Mary makes a positive impact on our building by the way she cares for our residents' apartments, their needs and feelings. She is kind, considerate, always positive and an important member of our Autumn Glen Family. Her cheerful "good mornings" help us all start the day off right!

Our hearts are full after such a spooktacular 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat!
THANK YOU to everyone who joined us- our amazing residents, families, associates, community friends, and all the trick-or-treaters who brought so much joy and truly creative costumes to our event.
THANK YOU to our DJ Jordan Paiva, the face painters, Dartmouth Police and Fire Departments, Jo Jo's Coffee Truck and our volunteers from Somerset Berkley Regional High School for bringing their Halloween spirit to our event and helping to make the day unforgettable for our guests!
And lastly, we want to say THANK YOU to everyone who decorated a trunk — your participation and community spirit was truly appreciated! Your creativity, time and talent made for a close call when tallying up the votes, but the 2025 pumpkin trophy for best trunk was awarded to Nana the Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch and their Sesame Street trunk!
We’re already looking forward to next year!

Yesterday, Avita residents did some last minute shopping in preparation for our annual Trunk or Treat!

Autumn Glen is so proud to share that this past weekend our team participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and raised over $3,000 to support the Alzheimer’s Association!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, walked alongside us, or cheered us on from afar. Your generosity and encouragement help bring us one step closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.

Together, we honor those we’ve lost, support those living with Alzheimer’s, and keep hope alive for a brighter future.

As we get ready for this year's Walk to End Alzheimer's on Saturday October 18th, we have been busy fundraising and educating our local community on Alzheimer's awareness and supporting those who have been affected by dementia and the caregivers who support them.
Our Avita Has Hope Bake Sale was a terrific success. Many thanks to all of our associates, residents, families and community friends who helped by baking and or purchasing all of the delicious, themed goodies!
In addition, our recent "Join My Journey" presentation at the Dartmouth Public Library with Kelly McCarthy, our Vice President of Engagement and Memory Care alongside Mary Silvia our Memory Care Director proved to be an informative and educational experience for all in attendance.

As September comes to a close we are happy to announce that our Associate of the Month was Telma B!
Telma was nominated because she is very friendly, always smiling, and a true team player. Telma is a veteran Resident Care Assistant who is very flexible with her schedule, always happy to pick up, comes in early, and stays late whenever needed. She is a team player and will help wherever she is needed. Recently, Telma joined the housekeeping team in addition to her RCA position and has been extremely supportive in that role. Telma is kindhearted and wonderful to our residents. She treats them with respect, dignity, and compassion. She is responsible, reliable, trustworthy and accountable.
Thank you for all you do every day and congratulations Telma!

Autumn Adventures Are Underway!
We have been taking advantage of the early fall season and celebrating everything we love about this time of year during our scheduled September Outings.
What fun our residents had while enjoying, the farm stand and apple orchard at the Young Family Farm, the animals on exhibit at the Button Wood Park Zoo, delivering sandwiches to our local Police and Fire Department, and most recently our scenic ride, wine tasting and visit to Newport Vineyards!
