I travel to Buckhead, Decatur, Brookhaven, and Druid Hills to provide speech services to children in their preschools, homes , or virtually! I 100% love my job and getting to help children reach their maximum speech potential! I like to make speech therapy motivating and fun, so my students love coming. I do a lot of play based therapy with young children, so they think therapy is just playing fun games and they don’t realize I am really targeting their speech goals the entire time. I also think structured speech therapy and activities have a place and are important for expectations, but believe you can have a balance of both. I have helped hundreds of children improve all different types of speech and language delays and I am confident I can help your child too! If not, I will be 100% transparent with you and make sure I refer you to another SLP who can. However, this rarely happens and my students love coming to speech, make fast progress, and I make sure to educate parents and teachers on our targets and how they can support them in their environment. I specialize in working with students who struggle producing verbal speech and benefit from Augmentative/Alternative Communication (AAC) systems, as well as phonological awareness literacy skills, dyslexia, speech delays, speech sound disorders, expressive and receptive language, and also with social skills needed to interact and communicate with others especially peers successfully. I am a big believer that it takes a village and love teaching parents and teachers how to use specific strategies to support their child/student and their specific areas of need. I also, provide consultative services and advocate for my students and their families when trying to apply to get free services though the public schools. The process is long, frustrating, and parents have to really understand the Georgia Department rules of special education and their guidelines in order to help their child qualify for special services. It is important that I teach them how to advocate for their child, ask specific questions, and not be afraid to stick up for yourself and your child when something’s i not working properly. I do this mostly out of the goodness of my heart, but I do ask for a small fee for my time.

This one mastered all his developmental artic sound errors in just a couple months , so we’re moving on to “r” and he’s only 4! Don’t let the developmental norms stop you from teaching your kids later developing sounds, bc if they have been in speech and have made a lot of progress they learn it fast!

It’s been a few months in speech for this guy and now his confidence has gone way up and I swear he will try anything and isn’t scared of its “too hard” like in the beginning! Proud SLP!

Wanted to share in some of the fun we also have! Our motto is “work hard to play harder!” In speech I always try to have motivating games and crafts (especially around the holidays) and toys that I know my kids will love to play with! It’s all about working hard and getting rewarded to do something at the end that’s super fun! You want your kids to always be excited about the next time they get to come to speech! Plus it makes it fun and interesting for me too!

It’s not always perfect and easy! I promise, but just meet your kiddo where he is, focus on the positive, give clear feedback, and treats for working hard always helps! 😎 this kiddo works hard no matter what and I can’t wait for the day when I get to share the video of him mastering his “l” sound!!

We have mastered almost all of our speech sound errors including “s clusters” (where a child leave out “s” in a word so “spoon” is “poon); “f”, “v,” “l” and “l blends,” “ch,” “sh,” and now it’s time to fix that lateral “s” - the hardest one!! However, she’s ready and has the confidence now that she can learn any sound we work on! Just listen to her working on final “ts” words in phrases! We’re getting there!! Don’t give up and don’t let your kiddos give up, try another sound if one is to hard and come back to it when they have some more confidence!!! She’s been with me almost 2 school years and I think is finally over my videos! lol 😂 however listen to her making those phrases sound so easy!

My best girl here loves being the boss, so she make her mom, cat, little brother, or whoever she can grab to be her speech student! Ha I love it! Whatever works and listen to how good she is producing her “v” sounds in words!
