The next forty eight hours are bringing one of the biggest drops in barometric pressure across the Great Lakes. Pressure will fall more than twenty millibars in under twenty four hours with winds gusting over forty five miles per hour and wind chills falling into the teens and twenties. Snow belt areas will also see heavier lake effect snow.

Rapid pressure changes can trigger sinus pressure, headaches, joint aches, inflammation, fatigue and that overall “off” feeling many people get before a weather shift. If you are sensitive to these swings, you may feel it as the system moves in.

I am so happy to see more and more studies coming out from government agencies, research universities, and medical facilities that are finally digging into the true root causes of skin cancer. Are we saying that sun exposure is not a risk? No. What we are saying is that it has to be done in moderation, year-round, and with responsibility.

When you tan with us, we start you at a low time and we never send you every single day. Science shows that daily tanning is what increases the risk of DNA lesions. This is why we skip every other day and slowly build your minutes. Our goal is to avoid any hint of pink or overexposure because healthy color comes from controlled and consistent exposure, not from rushing the process.

Apparently, it is considered “unreasonable” to:

Make tanning this good.
Keep prices this easy on the wallet.
Offer sales so ridiculous that grown adults start setting alarms and coordinating carpools.
Run a spa side powered by The Red Light Queen™ that makes everywhere else feel like a sad beige waiting room.

So yes, we hear you.

We acknowledge that our Pink Wednesday and Black Friday events have caused:
• sudden schedule changes
• harmless levels of shopping mayhem
• texting your bestie “I’m going early, need anything?”
• and a suspicious amount of excitement for a Wednesday morning.

I love how there are more in-depth studies year after year, month after month, and what they show? Moderate year-round non-burning exposure actually increases your life expectancy, decreases Health risks, decreases skin cancer and improves your survival rate of cancers among a ton of other benefits. The trick? Use professional salons who understand the avoidance of overexposure.

In the old Sunkissed Tanning Location! Sunny Shores Tanning & Treasures was born on February 10th, 2019. Long-time Manger, Kristin and her Husband, Mat, purchased the beds and assets from previous Owners Tom & Sandy of Sunkissed Tanning who decided to stop operations at the North East Location. Kristin had been managing the tanning facility for over 2 years when she was given the opportunity to buy the beds and start something new. It happened very fast but It was a no brainer to keep an amazing tanning facility in North East, her love and passion for customer service and her knowledge of SMART TANNING paved the way for this. We are constantly working to improve to the best we can be. Thank you for supporting local, family owned business!

Have you seen the new 800 square foot entrance? We have a new Sales/Reception desk, waiting area, unique retail experience for Health, Beauty, Jewelry, Clothing, Gifts & More! FRESH Lamps in all the bed and promise to keep the lamps fresh, always. We back up that promise with a color in a month guarantee and a no fade promise or else you get whatever you purchased last, free! We have space for more rooms/beds/features and that will come after the entire facility is renovated and of course in time as we are able to.

Our facility has 15 rooms! In those rooms we have Level 1 EX beds, Level 2 UXF beds, Level 3 VIPER beds, Level 4 Stand up Boothe, Level 5 KBL Alpha, Zero-Gravity Massage Chair with FDA approved red light wand and a Custom Spray Booth!
