One of our participants proudly shows how our instructor set up the air fryer provided by Lighthouse using bump dots. These tactile markers help her easily identify the cooking times, making it easier and safer for her to use the appliance independently.

At Lighthouse, we understand how important the right tools and adaptations are for building confidence, independence, and safety at home. That’s why we provide items like air fryers to our participants as part of our commitment to supporting their daily living skills. Small adaptations can make a big difference.

Our participants are now able to prepare their own healthy and delicious meals independently.
They have gone from making simple meals like a sandwich to confidentiality preparing soups, stews, desserts, and more.
At Lighthouse of SWFL, we provide participants with the tools, training, and support they need to perform daily activities, build confidence, and maintain their independence. We believe that independence is achievable when opportunities and proper resources are available.

One of the most important parts of our program is teaching daily living skills that help our clients stay safe, confident, and independent.
In our classes, clients learn how to cook and how to use kitchen utensils and appliances in a safe way. This time, we prepared mozzarella Parmesan sticks and yes, they were delicious! 😋
To support continued practice at home, our clients were able to take an air fryer with them as a gift, so they can keep building the skills they learned in class.
Our kitchen may be small, but the need is enormous, and moments like these remind us why this work matters so much.
We are always grateful for kindness and support. If you’d like to donate, volunteer, or share a skill you can teach our community, we would love to hear from you 🤍

Every child is unique, and that’s why our approach is too. In our program, our instructors work one-on-one with each child, supporting the development of sensory awareness, communication, motor skills, and independence.
Services are delivered at the Lighthouse or in the child’shome, where learning feels safe, familiar, and meaningful.
👉We invite you to follow us, join our mission, and help us to continue providing services to our community.
