Farewell, my friends!
Best Fruits survived through many events, the most recent the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the rising gas prices gave our business a final blow. It is no longer profitable for us to run our business. We depend on reasonable fuel prices as we import many exotic fruits from faraway places but always sourced from fair trade certified farms and producers. That is no longer doable by such rising gas prices. So we wanted to focus more on locally grown fruits in Florida and out of state. Unfortunately, it's very tough to find high quality, organic fruits and farmers here are also affected by high gas prices. So, we sold last weekend at a large discount our last inventory of fruits. We want to thank our loyal customers who bought from us until the very end.
From the bottom of my heart, it saddens me to close our store after more than half a century in business.I wish all my 400+ employees the best and I hope they find new employment soon to feed their families. I am forever thankful for their service and dedication.
And to our beloved customers, we may part but our memories together will never fade.
Good bye!
Harold Hopfsamen III,
CEO of Best Fruits
