When an aneurysm becomes complex, the stakes are higher — but so are the options.

Dr. Thompson and Dr. Coyle recently performed a fenestrated endovascular aneurysm repair (FEVAR) at MidState Medical Center.

For patients, this diagnosis can be overwhelming — especially when the aneurysm is close to arteries that supply the kidneys and other vital organs. Traditionally, this meant a large operation and a long recovery.

Today, in many cases, we can treat this from the inside.

Through small access points — without large incisions — a precisely designed graft is positioned to repair the aneurysm while preserving blood flow to critical organs.

✔️ No large incisions
✔️ Completed in under 90 minutes
✔️ Faster recovery
✔️ Back to life sooner

This is what modern vascular care looks like — combining advanced technology with experience and precision to offer patients safer, less invasive solutions.

At Connecticut Vascular Center, this level of care isn’t the exception — it’s what we strive to deliver every day.

Pelvic pain isn’t always gynecologic — it’s often venous.

A simple, minimally invasive procedure using targeted coil embolization treats the source.

Before: Dilated, refluxing pelvic veins on angiography

After: Veins closed. Flow normalized. Symptoms improve

You can see the difference — and patients feel it.

Long segment occlusion of popliteal artery, tp trunk and proximal peroneal artery in a patient with advanced gangrene.

This patient was not an open surgical candidate and came to us to try and save his leg.

Using advanced Endovascular technology (be back crossing catheter), our team was able to restore blood flow where traditionally this was impossible. We were able to give this patient a chance to save his leg where 5 years before this would not have been possible.

Today we celebrate the physicians who define our standard of care.

Dr. Coyle
Dr. Ferneini
Dr. DeNatale
Dr. Thompson

Together, they bring over 70 years of combined experience—but more importantly, a shared commitment to doing things the right way:

• Thoughtful, precise care
• Listening first, treating second
• Prioritizing long-term outcomes—not quick fixes

In vascular care, details matter. Judgment matters. Experience matters.

We are proud to recognize our physicians not just for what they do—but how they do it.

Happy National Doctors’ Day.

Vein disease doesn’t wait — and neither should you.

What starts as mild leg pain, swelling, or visible veins is often the first sign of a progressive condition.

Left untreated, it can lead to skin damage, discoloration, and even ulcers.

Most people wait years.

You don’t have to.

Getting evaluated early means simpler treatment, faster recovery, and preventing long-term complications.

If your legs are telling you something — listen.

Vein ablation is a minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins.

A small catheter delivers heat energy to close the diseased vein, allowing blood to reroute to healthy veins and improve circulation.

The procedure is performed in the office and typically takes 10-15 minutes.

Patients usually walk immediately after treatment and return to normal activity quickly.

Vein disease isn’t diagnosed by appearance alone.

A simple venous ultrasound allows us to see how blood is flowing and whether the valves in your veins are working properly.

The test is painless, takes about 15–30 minutes, and gives us the information needed to choose the right treatment.

Early diagnosis can prevent symptoms from progressing.

Not all veins are the same.

Spider veins are small surface veins, while varicose veins are larger, bulging veins often caused by deeper vein problems.

Understanding the difference is the first step toward effective treatment.

Varicose veins develop when the small valves inside leg veins weaken over time. This allows blood to flow backward and pool, causing veins to enlarge and become visible.

Several factors increase the risk, including genetics, pregnancy, prolonged standing, aging, and weight gain.

The good news: vein disease is very common and highly treatable when evaluated early.

If you notice bulging veins, leg heaviness, swelling, or skin changes, it may be time for a vein evaluation.

Varicose veins aren’t always just cosmetic.

Left untreated, vein disease can progress and lead to chronic venous insufficiency, causing symptoms like swelling, skin changes, bleeding veins, blood clots, and even venous ulcers.

The good news: early diagnosis and treatment can prevent these complications.

If you’re noticing bulging veins, leg heaviness, swelling, or skin changes, it may be time to get evaluated.
