Congratulations to the Health and Wellness team members: Alison, Anne, Abbie, Pippa, Meghan, and Shey for winning the Functional Toolkit Contest!
Their toolkit, “Breathe Right,” promotes self-regulation, relaxation, and focus through breath control and sensory engagement. This toolkit can provide breathing technique ideas that can be used during exercise during our clinic treatments! 🌿💨

The Health and Wellness Team is hosting their second annual Senior Social on Tuesday July 30th! From 4-4:30p there will be a fun 30 minute exercise class, followed by games and refreshments until 5:30p. Come join us and celebrate another successful year of exercise class! If you have not attended class before, we would love to have you join us and meet some new friends!

EQUIP Self Care and Special Events teams hosted its Annual Scavenger hunt on Wednesday! DPT students got to participate in a game of scavenger hunt around the North Haven Campus with an ice cream social after to celebrate!

SECOND PLACE: Addie Ellithorpe, Annie Beckman, Abbie Coughlin, Kevin Barry, Gabby Berthiaume

With all the hard work our Self Care Team has been demonstrating, this team wanted to enjoy a beautiful summer day by having a team bonding corn hole tournament. The teams consisted of mixing both cohorts to make it more fun and competitive! Congrats to our winners Anna and Gabby!

With the official end of the Summer I semester and rolling right into Summer II, EQUIP clinic is ready to continue to move through July and August with the support from faculty/alumni and amazing collaboration with brilliant students! On Saturday, June 8th, our Go Baby Go team hosted their summer giveaway event! At this event our team gave away 5 personalized cars to children and their families from the New Haven area. These cars will allow the children to be able to better access their community and area and we are so excited to help them succeed. Thank you to the children and families as well as our incredible faculty and facilities teams for helping us make this event a great success!

Last week our Health And Wellness Team hosted the 4th Annual Senior Fitness screening, where they performed a general fitness screenings to local seniors that included strength, flexibility and endurance testing. After the participants completed their screening, they were educated by team members on how they compared to their peers of similar age, and different exercises or activities that they could do to strengthen what they were weakest in. Big thank you to all our team members who volunteered their time to make the event great!

The past two weeks, our Health And Wellness Team and Self Care Team enjoyed the beautiful summer weather to promote physical activity outside!
H&W took their exercise class outside for a walk along the Bobcat stride, led by instructors Courtney and Tiffany. Big thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time to come walk with us! The next one will be July 23rd if you want to join!
Self Care also got their steps in along the Bobcat stride with the Cheshire Collaborative students! Excited for a summer filled of exercise! ☀️

Come and support your fellow PT friends from both cohorts who are fitness instructors on campus this summer! Attending these classes is a great way to stay active and promote self care this summer!
