Ocean State Herbal Association

Ocean State Herbal Association Monthly meetings are held the first Sunday of the month from 1 - 3pm at the North Kingstown Community Library.

A different herbal topic is discussed each month. O-SHA, the Ocean State Herbal Association, is an organization designed to support and educate our members and the community about the uses and benefits of medicinal plants and the healing arts in a creative and sacred way.

Anyone looking for mullein, Deborah Louth has plenty to share. Just need to contact her regarding harvesting some.
I believe that it's so plentiful because of covid-19. Now is a good time to harvest some for making medicine. PM me if interested and I can give you her contact information.

We have a place for our holiday gathering! It will be at the South Kingstown Recreational Center on Sunday, December 15th from 1 pm to 5:30 pm. It is located on Broad Rock Rd just up the street from the Y.
The event will be potluck so please bring something to share. And to cover the cost of the rental we will be asking for donations. Hope to see you there!

Well, even though it's October and still fairly warm, the holiday season will be here soon. If we want to have another O-SHA holiday party we need to put on our thinking caps and try to locate a gathering spot. The Community Center was fun but much too expensive for such a short period of time and way too much work.
If anyone of you has any ideas please let me know or share to this page. Or if you know someone who would be willing to open up their home that would be awesome as well as generous.
Also not to forget, our next meeting will be Sunday, November 3rd at the NK library from 1-3. Topic will be on CBD.

For anyone planning on attending the upcoming RI Herb Festival this Saturday, please note that the location has changed from Farmacy Herbs in Providence to their farm in West Greenwich due to the brutal heat that is forecasted for that day. The farm is located on the corner of Hopkins Hill Rd and Bentley Farm Rd. Hope to see you there!

I am so grateful for everyone who came to our holiday gathering last night. It was an amazing evening and I felt a true sense of community to all who attended. It was an incredible amount of work to put this together and huge thanks to Jane Mitchell, Haley Barber, Marlene Wojcik, Caryn Daly, Dennis Melucci, Felicia Fezzuoglio and Patty Szarek for helping to set up the room and do all the decorating. There was no way that I could have accomplished that alone.
That being said and with much prodding from many there, it has been decided to restart our monthly meetings. I will be working on a location for all of us to gather at. And our new time will be on Sunday afternoon so it will be easier for those who retire early or don't like driving at night.
I will keep you all posted on upcoming events - dates, time, places, topics, etc...
Thank you again everyone so much.
Love to you all ❤💞💞❤
