Dee is deeply passionate about the transformative effects that bodywork can have on both the body and mind. With a holistic approach, she is committed to helping her clients feel truly wonderful in their own bodies.

Additionally, she has been a dedicated yoga instructor since 2015 and is a newly certified CrossFit Level 1 trainer, emphasizing strength, mobility, and balance in her practice.

Neuromuscular massage is one of of our offerings here at The Bodywork Collaborative!

Neuromuscular massage is a specialized form of deep tissue massage therapy that focuses on treating pain and dysfunction in the body's soft tissues and nervous system. This technique is particularly effective in addressing muscle spasms, stiffness, and chronic pain by targeting specific areas of muscle tension and relieving pressure on nerves.

The therapy involves applying static pressure to the affected areas, which helps to increase blood flow, reduce muscle tension, and release trigger points—knots of tight muscle fibers that can cause pain in other parts of the body. Neuromuscular massage is often used to treat conditions such as sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and fibromyalgia.

By carefully assessing and manipulating the body's muscles and connective tissues, therapists can help improve posture, restore balance, and enhance overall mobility. Neuromuscular massage is tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, making it an effective and personalized approach to pain management and rehabilitation.

Wondering about the benefits of pre-natal massage?

Prenatal massage offers many benefits that can enhance the well-being of both the expectant mother and her unborn child. A notable advantage is relief from common pregnancy-related discomforts like back pain, joint discomfort, and muscle tension. Prenatal massage helps alleviate these issues by improving circulation, reducing muscle tension, and promoting relaxation, which can lead to better sleep and reduced anxiety.
Another benefit of prenatal massage is its positive impact on emotional well-being. The gentle, nurturing touch of a prenatal massage can help lower stress hormone levels.

Lastly, prenatal massage can prepare the body for labor and delivery. By enhancing blood flow and promoting flexibility, massage can help maintain muscle tone and joint flexibility, which are crucial for the birthing process. Some studies suggest that regular prenatal massage can lead to shorter and less painful labor, as well as fewer complications during delivery.
