One thing that is more valuable in today’s Nursing home is being able to cater to everyone’s needs. Due to the fact that we support our community and hospitals for years now taking isolation or infectious residents, we don’t want anyone to be alone or ignored in an iso situation . Here is a picture of just one of 48 residents that are getting one to one fun therapy. This volunteer who works with us is part of the Behavior Health Solutions team. Thank you from the staff and residents College Park Rehab. This was a tight Yahtzee game between the two of them. This past week we honored our Philippine staff and residents as they celebrated their country’s independence. We decorated with traditional colors and hung their flag. Had traditional foods and dress, a short history of their independence was read to all of us. Many of our Philippine staff told us it was very emotional. They have been here for years and have not heard their national anthem sung in so long that many eyes cried. It was an emotional day for all of us.

One of the best teaching tools we have is very busy. This very true replica can be transitioned for hands on training. The manikin has the ability to be trached , have a stroke or whatever we need to teach the staff to be sure of the care each resident needs. Here we are teaching wound prevention, to include linens appropriate for bed ridden residents , turning appropriately and using positioning devises. Nothing beats taking time to learn hands on. Every CNA, and LN attended a session throughout the three day training on all shifts.
