If your goals felt clear on January 1 but feel heavier now, you’re not behind—you’re learning. 🧠✨

By now, real life has taken over for many of us. Energy has shifted. Motivation has dipped. Old patterns may have resurfaced. And too often, people give up entirely.

Remember, it's not about perfection, it's about progress—and progress may fluctuate. Some goals may need adjustments to fit whatever season of life you're in.

Ask yourself: Does this goal still align with my current capacity? Is it supporting my mental health—or working against it? What feels sustainable right now? And then recalibrate. 💛

A couple of months ago, we introduced Mavis—a friendly meadowlark who helps make mental health conversations age-appropriate! Most recently, Mavis had his modeling debut, creating three posters to introduce mental health skills and reminders in K-12 spaces. He wanted to show them off!

🧸 Elementary Age: Name Your Feelings. This poster helps kids identify and name their feelings.
🎒Middle-School Age: Emotional Regulation. This poster teaches kids how to handle big emotions.
📚 High-School Age: Talk About It. This poster illustrates how things can stack up for teens, and reminds them not to face it alone.

If you're an educator, school counselor, or parent/guardian interested in any of Mavis' posters, please reach out to Meadowlark. We will gladly get them to you!

Happy New Year! There's a lot of buzz about resolutions this time of year, but we prefer to frame it as goal-setting.

January often comes with societal pressure to overhaul your life. Bigger goals. Better habits. A “new you.” But this is never sustainable, and meaningful change doesn’t have to be extreme—or exhausting.

This year, set yourself up for success by considering goals that:
📈 Focus on progress, not perfection
🧠 Support your emotional well-being
🔋 Respect your energy and capacity
🧘 Leave room for rest, flexibility, and growth

Goals rooted in self-understanding tend to last longer than those built on drastic change.

If you're unsure what meaningful goal-setting looks like for you, reach out to Meadowlark! Talk therapy can help you clarify what actually matters, break patterns that keep you stuck, and set goals that feel realistic—not overwhelming.
