We are recruiting for one open PGY1 position in phase II of the ASHP Match! 💊 Our PhORCAS application deadline is March 31st. 🗓️

We are a community teaching hospital offering a solid core of foundational learning experiences and a wide range of electives including emergency medicine, psychiatry, rehabilitation medicine, and antimicrobial stewardship. Our pharmacists work with the healthcare team throughout the hospital to ensure positive patient outcomes. 🏥 We offer a competitive stipend, paid time off (including major holidays!), and professional membership and travel reimbursement.

We are excited to announce that we have matched Natalie Smith from as one of our PGY1 pharmacy residents for the upcoming 2026-2027 year. Natalie completed two of her APPEs with us this past summer, and we can’t wait to have her smiling face back with us! 😃

Our longitudinal APPE student, Kayla Dallis, with the help of her preceptor, Dr. Sarah Wright, led our pharmacists in a neonatal code simulation this past week! Kayla just finished up her emergency medicine APPE with Dr. Wright on Friday and will start her hospital pharmacy management APPE with Dr. Jamie Ballard on Monday. 🏥 At Baptist Health - NLR we are proud to precept students from both Harding and UAMS Colleges of Pharmacy!

First, Dr. Hannah Hunt! 👩🏼‍⚕️ A graduate of , she completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency here at Baptist Health - North Little Rock. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, and in addition to precepting internal medicine, she also precepts cardiology 🫀, AND serves as our APPE/IPPE Coordinator!

Last, but most certainly not least, Dr. Josh Lowery! 👨🏻‍⚕️ He is a graduate of and completed his PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Christus St. Vincent in Santa Fe, NM. A Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, he also serves as our critical care preceptor! 🫁

First up, Dr. SJ Reddin! A graduate of , she completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and joined our team in 2020.

Next, Dr. Sarah Wright! Dr. Wright is a 2021 graduate of . She completed her PGY1 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR and became a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist thereafter. She joined us at Baptist Health - NLR at the start of 2024! On the 7th day of spotlights, Baptist - NLR gave to me, our preceptors for nephrology! Dr. Willis Johnson is a Board Certified Critical Care Pharmacist and a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. A graduate of , he started at Baptist Health - North Little Rock in 2013. Dr. Logan Danielsen is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and a graduate of . He started as a pharmacist at Baptist Health - North Little Rock in 2016.

During the nephrology learning experience, residents learn about various renal replacement modalities and put that knowledge to work by covering renal dose monitoring for patients throughout the hospital, electrolyte monitoring and replacement for critically ill patients on CRRT, and more. Residents also gain experience dosing and monitoring parental nutrition while on this learning experience! 👏
