for Dr. Brooke is a day!

"Weekends at my house mean it is time for outings for special treats - you’ll find me with a chocolate croissant, a unique latte, out on a trip to the farmers market for some seasonal goodies, or sharing plates of appetizers with friends."

Go and embrace the world where it is and where you are. Take time to do something just for you.

For , Dr. Brooke is bring out the heavy weights!

"My favorite wellness practice as of late has been adding some weight-based exercise to my routine. I spent much of my life doing more cardio based workouts like running/cycling/hot yoga- in the past you could NOT convince me to lift a weight (why pick up something so heavy??) My tune has changed now and I have grown to love weight lifting classes - becoming stronger has been extremely empowering for me and I find that I have more energy, better balance, greater mental clarity, and I sleep like a rock!"

What does your work our routine look like. Could you start one? Maybe alter the one you have and incorporate something new?

The newest addition to R and H, Dr. Brooke, is providing this week's tips!

For , Dr. Brooke says this:

"Having a one-year-old is a lesson in mindfulness for many reasons, but the best is that I am reminded to SLOW DOWN and take in the simple joys of life with fresh eyes as she experiences her “firsts” - the first taste of cold, sweet ice cream, the cushion of summer grass beneath bare feet, the sensation of floating in a swimming pool surrounded by the scents of chlorine and sunscreen. Small things that I once took for granted are now adding a brightness to my world - I am doing my best to experience these moments slowly and with gratitude."

Take a breath and see someone's first or enjoy your own firsts as you journey through life. Today is the first day of the rest of your life, savor it, uplift it, love it and yourself.

For , Dr. Andreya recommends lunch with a friend or maybe some friends!

"I like my Fridays to be spent with the ones I love. The last several weeks I’ve really enjoyed spending time with my best friend who I don’t get to see enough because of our work schedules and vacations."

Get together with your folks and have a meal or go for a walk. Take time to restore human connection. You are not a cog in the machine, you are a whole creation worthy of connection, of seeing and being seen.

Be well, be mindful, be grateful!

Dr. Andreya's take on is guarding our sleep!

"My wellness practice is a good bedtime routine. Do 👏🏾 not 👏🏾 come 👏🏾 for 👏🏾 sleep 👏🏾
I have to get good sleep for my health and the health of others. I try my best to be finished eating dinner about 3 hours before bed. Sometimes I have to eat a little something sweet because , but that is seldom heavy. I don’t like overhead lights so they’re rarely on, however if they are then they are getting turned off about 2 hours before bed and the lamps are turned on. The tv typically goes off about an hour before bed. I take my meds, get a hot shower and do my skincare routine. I’m then in the bed reading a book on my Kindle with my blue light readers. There are the nights that I act like a rebel and watch tv in bed but, usually I wake up cranky in the middle of the night because I forgot to turn it off and Judge Lauren is yelling at someone on an episode of Paternity Court."

Take time to be intentional about your rest today (and everyday. routines matter!) because you deserve rest that is actually restful and restorative!

This week's tips come from Dr. Andreya!

For , Dr. Andreya says "My favorite mindfulness tip is mindful eating. Most of us eat while distracted. Breakfast smoothie in the car while driving to work. Lunch is eaten in a hurry while attempting to catch up on the morning’s tasks. Dinner is often in front of the TV.

I try my best to mindfully eat lunch. It’s the easiest option for me because I’m often alone during this part of the day. I will eat at the table or at my desk without tap tap tapping on my computer. I slow down. I notice the smell of the food. I pay attention to the texture and taste. I stop once I’m satiated. It allows me to appreciate the small moment of my body working well."

Take a moment today to truly savor the sustenance your body needs. Feed your senses and your soul.

"My favorite wellness practice is horseback riding."

Take a moment and reconnect with nature. Take a hike or ride a horse or just touch some grass and feel the sun. You are an integral part of nature and the universe.

Today's comes from Dr. Renea:

"When I am struggling with being stuck in my thoughts, I ground myself by describing things around myself to myself. For instance, today on my walk, I noticed some lichens that were on a dead branch. I also noticed some old filing cabinets by a dumpster. Not labeled good or bad, just observed. "

Take a breath and see the world! Be well, be mindful, be grateful!

It is finally !

What are you doing this weekend to disconnect from work and find joy?

Taking time to disconnect from work is crucial for maintaining both physical and mental well-being, leading to increased productivity, reduced stress, and improved work-life balance. It allows your brain to rest and reset, preventing burnout and enhancing creativity. Furthermore, disconnecting fosters better relationships and overall life satisfaction.

Our reminder is to take time and check in with your people. Strong interpersonal connections are vital for mental health, providing emotional support, reducing stress, and fostering a sense of belonging. These connections can significantly improve mental well-being, lower the risk of mental health conditions like depression and anxiety, and enhance overall life satisfaction.

Today take a break from the helter skelter and focus on your breath instead of the rush of the outside world.

Find a comfortable position, close your eyes, and focus on your breath as it enters and leaves your body. Notice the sensation of each inhale and exhale. When your mind wanders, gently bring your attention back to your breath.

Be well, be mindful, be grateful.
