may is national mental health awareness month, and some of the hardest battles people fight are the ones no one can see.
the mom smiling in the school pickup line.
the dad carrying the weight of everything in silence.
the friend who says “i’m just tired.”
the person who keeps showing up while quietly falling apart.
mental health doesn’t always look like breaking down.
sometimes it looks like irritability.
exhaustion.
overwhelm.
withdrawing.
surviving instead of living.
this month is about more than awareness.
it’s about compassion.
it’s about checking in.
it’s about breaking the silence around anxiety, depression, postpartum struggles, burnout, and the invisible weight so many carry every day.
you never truly know what someone is holding behind their smile.
be kind.
check on your people.
ask twice.
listen without judgment.
and if you’re the one struggling, your pain matters too.
you are worthy of support.
you are worthy of healing.
you are not meant to carry it all alone.
mental health is health.
and awareness can save lives.
