We celebrated Christmas a little early at staffing today and laughed a lot. Games were played, snacks were eaten, and Santa even stopped by with gifts… which can only mean one thing: we made the nice list this year. 🎅✨

Katie here!
I was at the office later than usual last night doing admin stuff and happened to catch how Anna Grace often rolls into work.

If you know her, you know she’s a perfect mix of chaos, kindness, and good vibes—which is exactly what makes her such a great therapist. She keeps us all laughing with her quirky little rituals… including the way she walks into work 😂

✨ New at Indigo! ✨

We added a check-in tablet to the waiting room so you can easily scroll to find your therapist and tap “I’m here.” Your therapist will get an instant text alert that you’ve arrived. It’s one more way we’re keeping your experience smooth, calm, and welcoming from the moment you walk in. 💜

Today, Katie, Daisy, and Ryann attended North Little Rock School District’s annual Self-Care Fair. This year they hosted a Boundary Builder Bar where staff were invited to choose one boundary to commit to between now and Christmas break and sign it as a personal contract to themselves.

There were plenty of laughs and plenty of “these are impossible” moments. And honestly… many of these boundaries do feel impossible for school employees. But their peace is worth fighting for. Every educator deserves the chance to set boundaries and move toward more calm and less chaos, even if it’s just one small step. A step is still a step.

We’re sharing our Boundary Builder here in case anyone else out there needs a gentle challenge to reclaim a little peace. You are worth it.

An Open Letter to Teachers,

This Season, Lead With Warmth
Your students may not remember every activity you planned.
They may not recall the crafts, the bulletin board, or the exact lyrics to the songs you practiced.
But they will remember how your classroom felt.

They will remember if it felt calm or chaotic.
If they felt seen or rushed.
If there was space for them to breathe.

For some of your students, your classroom is their safe place.
It is the only space where someone smiles when they walk in.
It is the place where they know the rules and the routine.
The place where their name is spelled right, their drawings are hung up, and their voice matters.

This holiday season, some children will go home to warmth and cookies and twinkly lights.
Some will go home to stress, to noise, or to very little at all.
For some children, the only holiday traditions they experience will happen in your room.

And that is both beautiful and heavy.

So if you are feeling the pressure right now.... the Pinterest expectations, the perfect performance, the big energy and glitter glue.... please pause.
You do not have to make magic.
YOU ALREADY ARE THE MAGIC!

A calm teacher.
A warm smile.
A moment of quiet where a child gets to just be.
That is what they will carry with them.
Not the elf on the shelf.
Not the ornament.
Not the hot chocolate bar.
So this season, lead with warmth instead of glitter.
Lead with presence instead of perfection.
You are enough.
And you are giving more than you know.

🎄 Calm in the Chaos with Cameisha | December Edition

Theme: The Worst Wonderful Time of the Year

December has a way of bringing out the “shoulds.”

The perfect tree. The perfect home. The perfect dinner.

The perfect version of you — calm, cheerful, accomplished, and present for everyone.

But beneath the sparkle and gatherings, there’s often something else — exhaustion, anxiety, or even sadness about what didn’t get done this year.

And for many professional women, the stillness of the holidays can actually make the anxiety louder.

When you’re not “doing,” your mind starts replaying the things you didn’t finish, the goals you missed, or the emotions you’ve been too busy to feel.

✨ Here’s your gentle reminder: Perfection isn’t peace.

You don’t have to earn rest by performing joy or productivity.

You can pause — even in the middle of dishes, travel plans, and family chaos — and let yourself just be.

Therapist Challenge : Anxiety often hides under busyness. When your body slows down but your brain keeps racing, try this:

Name what you feel (“I feel restless.” “I feel sad.” “I feel behind.”)

Then name what’s true (“I’m allowed to rest.” “I’ve done enough.” “This season doesn’t define my success.”)

This December, choose presence over performance.

You don’t need to decorate, host, or finish the year perfectly.

You just need to show up as you.

That’s more than enough.

🎄✨ Gauging Interest! ✨🎄

I’m thinking about hosting a Ho Ho Hold On… Let’s Calm Down First!
Elf Training Workshop for Kids on December 13 from 9:00 to 12:00 for ages 6 to 10.

It would be a fun and silly morning filled with:
✨ Gingerbread house building
🧝 Elf Control games
❄️ Snowball breathing and chill skills
🎨 Holiday crafts
🍿 Snacks provided
and lots of kid friendly coping tools wrapped in Christmas magic.

Cost would be $100 per child with a 20% sibling discount.

Before I officially open registration, I’m trying to see how many parents would want this for their kids.

If this is something you’d be interested in, drop a 🎄 or comment “Interested!” below so I can get a head count.

Will take place at Indigo’s office in NLR!

🧡 Happy Thanksgiving from Indigo Counseling

As we move into Thanksgiving, we want to pause and share our gratitude for this community.
Your courage, your healing, and your willingness to show up for yourself truly matter.

The holidays can bring joy, and they can feel heavy too. If this season brings mixed feelings, you are not alone. Your emotions are valid and welcome.

This week we are thankful for the clients who do the hard work, the parents and teachers who support children every day, and the therapists who hold space with compassion.

From all of us at Indigo, we hope your holiday is filled with rest, warmth, and peace.
Take gentle care of yourself this week. 🧡

A Little Free Pantry at Indigo

As we head into the holiday season, we wanted to add something small but meaningful to our office.

By the exit door, you will now find a Little Free Pantry with grab-and-go items, snacks, and essentials. We also added plastic bags so you can take whatever you need with ease.

No questions. No pressure.
This is simply a quiet way to support anyone who could use a little extra this time of year.

The pantry will stay up through the holidays, and you are always welcome to use it.

From our hearts to yours, we are grateful for each of you. 💜

A Safe Space with Anna Grace

Happy holidays everyone!
As an eating disorder therapist I'd like to share some insight for families and individuals over the holiday season. I think these are helpful for people regardless of if they struggle with eating disorders or eating disorders behaviors or not.
*Holidays center a lot around food and gathering together. This can be very hard for some individuals!
*Do not talk about calories at holiday gatherings
*Dont speak about diets at holiday gatherings
* Do not make a point to miss a meal so you can "eat more later"*
*Skip out on comments about exercise surrounding meal time unless it is about that you like to move your body for enjoyment.
* Avoid things like "I can't have that because I ate..."
*Do not mention weight loss or comment on an individuals weight/appearance. This is triggering and not helpful even if you feel this is positive for the individual.
*No "diet starts tomorrow" jokes
*Do not try to sell weight loss products or supplements.
*Avoid long talks about ingredients in food
*Avoid commenting on amount of food on plates or speed of ones eating.
Food and weight are not tied to an individuals worth. Words hurt and many ears are often listening and take on beliefs about themselves from words from others.
Ways to redirect:
*How about we chat about something else?
*Can we switch gears?
*Let's steer clear of talk about body.
*I'd rather skip the body/appearance talk.
*Not talking about that today.
*I am trying to be more mindful about my conversations; can we talk about a new subject?

Enjoy your holiday gatherings with your loved ones making new memories and being together
