In a world filled with diverse perspectives, cultures, and beliefs, our greatest strength lies in our ability to coexist. It’s not about agreeing on everything but about embracing our differences and learning from one another.

✨ Coexisting means:
• Respecting others even when we don’t understand their choices.
• Finding common ground amidst our differences.
• Building bridges, not walls.

The holidays, while magical for many, can indeed bring a whirlwind of emotions and challenges.

🤶Holiday Mental Health Tips for Adults & Kids:

🎁Put Yourself & Immediate Family First
• Reflect on your values.
• Decisions driven by authentic values = peace. Decisions driven by others’ expectations = stress.
🤶Embrace Patience & Creativity
• Gift-giving doesn’t have to break the bank. Explore:
• Name exchanges or “Secret Santa” games.
• DIY crafts (personal and heartfelt gifts).
• Family volunteering (giving back together).
• Experience over things (movies, nature outings, or cooking a special meal together).
🎁Set & Respect Boundaries
• Protect your mental health, even if it means opting out of toxic gatherings.
• For LGBTQ+ folks: Find affirming spaces or chosen family when biological family isn’t supportive.
🤶Keep a Routine
• Kids thrive on structure, even during break.
• Try family craft activities (Michael’s online classes are a great option!).
🎁Prioritize Self-Care & Rest
• Adequate sleep, hydration, and mindfulness practices are vital for staying well during the chaos.

November is Native American and Alaska Native Heritage Month, a time to celebrate and honor the rich cultural traditions, histories, and contributions of Native American and Alaska Native communities. It is a time for reflection, learning, and appreciation of the resilience and strength of Indigenous peoples throughout history.

By recognizing this month, we can help raise awareness about the diverse cultures, traditions, and experiences of Native communities, while acknowledging the challenges they have faced and continue to overcome. Let's take the opportunity to listen, learn, and support Indigenous voices and work toward a future of respect and understanding.

🪴I am grateful to serve the entire state in their mental health needs! It’s a true honor to walk alongside the wonderful clients I work with through their daily struggles, healing from trauma, grief and loss, LGBTQ issues, perinatal, marriage/relationships, and assisted reproduction stress.

🪴THANK YOU! to all the clients, friends, and family that support my solo practice and believe in the power of mental health healing!

An estimated 70% of people will suffer a traumatic event in their lifetime. Trauma goes on to impact all aspects of a person’s life and has the potential to debilitate one’s mental, emotional, physical, and relational health.

Key take aways:

•An estimated 3.9% of the world population has had post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) at some stage in their lives.
•Most people exposed to potentially traumatic events do not develop PTSD.
•Feeling supported by family, friends or other people following the potentially traumatic event can reduce the risk of developing PTSD.
•More women are affected by PTSD than men.
•There are effective treatments for PTSD.
