THROWBACK THURSDAY: Next Tuesday, Aug. 26, is National Dog Day, so this is the perfect chance to remember Sally, who was featured in Arkansas Hospice’s Summer 2001 newsletter as “our newest volunteer” and the organization’s first therapy dog. Not to be confused with service dogs that are specially trained to assist people with disabilities, therapy dogs help patients by simply visiting them. Today, these special volunteers in our Arkansas Hospice Therapy Dog Program continue to bring joy – and comfort – to patients and families.
