Touching lives with beauty. Our patients, their families, and our employees at the Ottenheimer Inpatient Center in Little Rock were treated with these beautiful flowers. The arrangements were displayed at the front desk and in the family room. A special thanks goes out to Ballet Arkansas for providing the flowers after a weekend gala.

Church leaders have high demands on their time, especially when it comes to always being available to support their congregation during times of need. As Arkansas Hospice becomes LifeTouch Health, our organization is available to support pastors and congregants facing life-limiting illnesses. LifeTouch Health’s hospice services provide comfort care for patients of all ages, oftentimes in their own homes, and can give families and pastors peace of mind. To learn more about this additional layer of support and watch an in-depth video, which was recorded in 2023 but remains very relevant, please visit https://www.lifetouchhealth.org/stories/helping-pastors-support-congregation-members-facing-life-limiting-illness.

THROWBACK THURSDAY: This month marks 25 years since Arkansas Hospice opened its first satellite office in Conway to serve that city and the surrounding area. This photo from our Summer 2001 newsletter shows a ribbon cutting with the late Michael Aureli, who co-founded Arkansas Hospice with Dee Brazil-Dale, holding the handle of the scissors. The Conway office is now one of 10 area offices that serve more than 40 counties with hospice care. Not only did the organization expand geographically, but also in the types of care it offers – growing into a Family of Care with Arkansas Hospice, Arkansas Palliative Care, Arkansas Advanced Care, and First Choice Senior Care.

Today, as Arkansas Hospice becomes LifeTouch Health, we are still the same Arkansas-based nonprofit organization. Our name is simply evolving to better reflect that we are offering more services and touching more lives in more ways.

We now provide a continuum of care that includes:

• Personal care providing in-home, non-medical support in the Greater Little Rock, Conway, Heber Springs, Hot Springs, and Searcy areas.
• Primary care for seniors, where they live.
• Palliative care to partner with doctors and specialists to provide patient-centered care at any stage of serious illness.
• Hospice care for patients and families when time may be limited.

We are Arkansans serving Arkansans – your neighbors, friends and family members – and it’s our privilege to care for your loved ones.

Please join us in congratulating Sharon Davis on being this year’s recipient of the LifeTouch Health Foundation’s Michael V. Aureli Compass Award! Sharon is a longtime supporter of our organization, and she currently serves on the boards of directors for both LifeTouch Health and the LifeTouch Health Foundation. Thank you, Sharon, for all that you do to help carry out our mission and to improve the lives of our fellow Arkansans!

Each year at Party at the Plaza, the LifeTouch Health Foundation presents the Michael V. Aureli Compass Award to an individual who embodies the true nature of a hospice heart and whose involvement has helped advance our important work as Arkansas Hospice becomes LifeTouch Health.

This year, the LifeTouch Health Foundation will present the 2026 Michael V. Aureli Compass Award to Sharon Davis, a longtime supporter of our organization. Sharon currently serves on the boards of directors for both LifeTouch Health and the LifeTouch Health Foundation.

The Compass Award is named for Arkansas Hospice Co-Founder Michael Aureli, who died in 2011 as a patient in the organization’s care.

Sharon will be recognized with a special video presentation at Party at the Plaza on April 25, 2026, at the Argenta Plaza in North Little Rock.

You can join the list of “Friends of Sharon” with a donation of $100 or more in her honor. All “Friends” will be recognized on the Party at the Plaza website and on the jumbo video wall at Party at the Plaza on April 25th. To join the list, visit: https://www.lifetouchhealth.org/compass-award.

A simple wish turned into a beautiful celebration. 💗

Martha always dreamed of hosting a tea party, and with the help of our Pine Bluff team, that dream became a joyful reality.

A beautiful description of what it means to have a “hospice heart,” courtesy of our co-founder Dee Brazil-Dale as we mark today, March 8, as International Women’s Day and March as Women’s History Month. Dee became involved with hospice care after experiencing great loss in her own life when her 19-year-old son, Mark, died in a vehicle accident. Later, Dee saw firsthand the impact Arkansas Hospice makes when the organization cared for both her mother and her husband. While Dee retired in 2006 from her role as the first executive director of the Arkansas Hospice Foundation, she has continued to play an active role with our organization and was recognized as the 2023 recipient of the Michael V. Aureli Compass Award, which is named for her co-founder. Currently, Dee continues to support our mission as a member of the LifeTouch Health Foundation Board of Directors. Please join us in thanking Dee for all that she has done – and continues to do – for our mission, as Arkansas Hospice becomes LifeTouch Health.
