Believe it or not: athletes tend to have poor oral health!
Why?
👟Dry mouth from exercising has an increased risk of tooth decay. Our saliva keeps bad bacteria away.
👟Sugary energy drinks: The acid and high sugar content in energy drinks damage tooth enamel.
👟Plaque build up from the sugar and starches of energy bars.
How to prevent poor oral health:
💦Don't forget to hydrate with water.
💦Drink energy drinks in moderation. Rinse with water after you finish drinking to wash away the sugar/acid.
💦Brush and floss at least twice a day.
