Arkansas’ pharmacists know best!

Thank you to the Arkansas Legislature for passing HB1150 and Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders for signing the bill to become ACT 624 which requires PBMs to CHOOSE between being a PBM or a pharmacy BUT NOT BOTH in the state of Arkansas! This legislation protects patients access, demands fair pricing, and provides better care for Arkansans!

It is an honor and a privilege to be a pharmacist in the great state of Arkansas! Having the ability to provide local healthcare to the communities of Arkansas is unmatched! Arkansas Pharmacists Association is an invaluable resource for Arkansans across the state as they continually and courageously fight against those that are limiting access for Arkansans and raising prices for healthcare in our state!

Our legislators continue to fight for fair prices, local access, and better care for their constituents!

The vertical integration in our healthcare systems, specifically with Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), owning their own insurance companies, owning their own pharmacies and mail order pharmacies, all the while being the ultimate payers of their competition (the local independent pharmacies and some big box pharmacies as well) has resulted in BILLIONS of dollars (as reported by the FTC) being funnelled to these middlemen who continue to raise prices and limit access to the employers that use them and further the patients that require local healthcare needs.

Thank you Representative Jeremiah Moore and Senator Kim Hammer for bringing Arkansas HB1150 to the table! Arkansas legislators continue to lead the nation in PBM reform!
