4 Types of FUN!
I read a blog a few weeks ago and decided it was something I wanted to share with you. It was titled “Not All Fun Feels the Same”. It got my attention since having fun is something I have learned to do as an adult. This original blog is written by Sheridan Ripley.

She discusses 4 types of fun!

Type 1 fun is the easiest kind of fun. It feels good while you are doing it. It is relaxing, enjoyable and light. Examples are reading on the beach, a nature walk, or doing something that just feels naturally pleasant.

Type 2 fun is a bit more challenging, but still enjoyable in the moment. It stretches you a little, but you are still glad you are doing it. A hike with some steep parts or being in big waves at the beach might fit here.

Type 3 fun usually does not feel fun while it is happening. It is hard, uncomfortable and you may even question why you are doing it. But afterward, you can look back and say, “That Was Worth It!” Definitely not something you would do every day, but meaningful enough that it still has value.

Type 4 fun is not much fun at all. It feels like a bad decision. It isn’t fun at the moment and doesn’t feel worth it afterward. It is usually one of those learning experiences.

Different people experience the same thing differently. What I think is fun, is boring to my more adventurous husband. What he thinks is fun is a type 3 or type 4 fun for me. Yet, we have learned over the years how to have fun with each other which is the point of this email. Enjoy one another and allow for differences in what you might call fun!

Tribute to my dad, Lynn Harris...
My Father, at the age of 95, graduated to bigger and better things on May 14th, 2026. He was born November 28th, 1930 in American Fork Utah. He grew up during the depression on a dairy farm. He was a hard worker and very resourceful, being able to create and make anything out of what I would call junk.

My first memories of him are of him being by my side during the night as I was sick, and I remember always being a sick child. He would sing “you are my sunshine” to me and tickle my back to calm me down. To this day, when I can not sleep, my husband knows to tickle my back to quiet my mind.

Growing up I could talk to him about anything. Nothing that I did seemed to surprise him. I had, and still have, a very rebellious nature, if there was a rule, I was going to see how far I could push it or even break it. He knew how to handle me and allowed me to make mistakes and figure things out. He taught me right from wrong and allowed me to experience the consequences of my choices. He loved me, and I knew it.

When my first husband died, he was there to help with all my honey dos, when there was no honey to do them.

He was an amazing grandfather and great grandfather to my posterity.

These last few years of his life he had very limited mobility. I had the opportunity to help him on Saturdays; shower, shave, and once a month give him a haircut. He was always grateful for my assistance. I am so grateful for the one on one time I had with him and the conversations we shared. Time to nurture and love him back for all the years he did that for me.

He was such a kind and loving person. I grew up thinking that was how all men were. It was quite an eye opener when I started dating and realized my dad was one of a kind.

I am glad that he is no longer bound to a body that was keeping him stuck. The house is not the same without his presence. He is missed!

He will always be in my heart. Love you Dad!

Morning Routines: 5 Morning Rituals That Will Transform Your Day
Most of us start our days in a reactive state—answering pings, checking news, or rushing to meet demands. But the way you spend your first hour determines the trajectory of your next sixteen. By implementing a few intentional habits, you can shift from feeling rushed to feeling focused and energized.

Here are five simple rituals to help you reclaim your morning and transform your day:

1. The "No-Phone" First Hour

Your brain is in a highly suggestible state when you first wake up. Diving into emails or social media immediately puts you in a "comparison" or "stress" mindset. Give yourself at least 30–60 minutes of screen-free time. This protects your mental clarity and allows you to set your own priorities before the world does it for you.

2. Hydrate for Brain Power

After eight hours of sleep, your body and brain are running on empty. Drink a full glass of water before you eat or drink anything else. Proper hydration first thing in the morning improves cognitive function, boosts energy levels, and helps wake up your digestive system.

3. Five Minutes of Intentional Movement

You don't need a full gym session to see the benefits of morning activity. A few minutes of gentle stretching, a short walk, or some basic calisthenics helps wake up your muscles and improves circulation. It clears the "morning fog" and tells your nervous system it’s time to be alert.

4. Practice "Habit Stacking" for Gratitude

Link a moment of mindfulness to a habit you already have, like making the bed or getting dressed. During that task, name three specific things you are grateful for. This simple practice re-wires your brain to look for the positive throughout the day, effectively lowering stress levels.

5. Prioritize a High-Protein Breakfast

To avoid the mid-morning energy crash, skip the sugary pastries and focus on protein. Eggs, Greek yogurt, or a protein-rich smoothie help stabilize blood sugar and keep you feeling full and focused until lunch. Steady fuel leads to steady productivity.

Transforming your day doesn’t require a total lifestyle overhaul—just a few intentional shifts. Pick one of these rituals to try tomorrow morning and see how much better you feel by noon.
