One of the many things I love about summer is having time. Time to just be. Time to be with some cool animals, plan a trip with the help of a cat, read a book for fun, walk all over the neighborhood to do my errands instead of driving, hang out with friends and family, try a new mocha, and just enjoy the day. No time constraints. No bells. No rushing. Today is a day like that.

Workout #5 this week. I’ve been out due to a broken kneecap. Not working out regularly really affected my physical and mental health. I missed working out outdoors with friends. So grateful to be back! My knife is not 100%, but I got the 👍🏼from my PT to begin modified workouts. No pickleball yet…

I just finished my 33rd year of teaching Elementary Physical Education! What a year it was. One of the hardest of my career. But I made it through. I am grateful. I am proud of myself. I am exhausted. Time to rest, recover and enjoy family, friends, and nature.

One of Agather Atuhaire's colleagues says she shows "indications of torture" after being detained in Tanzania.

I met Agather in 2024. She is a human rights defender in Uganda and has been abducted. She is a lovely, intelligent, courageous person risking her life to be a voice for others. She was awarded the U.S. State Department’s International Women of Courage award in 2024. I stand in solidarity with the movement calling for her immediate release so she can reunite with her family and her two young sons.
