Mankato Clinic

Mankato Clinic The Mankato Clinic is one of Minnesota's largest physician owned, multi-specialty regional group practices. Early in 1916, Drs. A.E. Sohmer and J.S.

Holbrook attended a medical convention in Rochester. They had a discussion about the model of solo medical practice becoming obsolete and their brainstorming that evening formed the beginning of the Mankato Clinic. They got up the following morning, shook hands and formed a unique partnership to serve their patients better. The Mankato Clinic's 'group practice' officially opened its doors in the f

all of 1916 in downtown Mankato. The Mankato Clinic is now one of Minnesota's largest physician owned, multi-specialty regional group practices and represents the most comprehensive array of high-quality, professional health-care services in the area. With over 90 years and 115 physicians and healthcare professionals providing care to the region, the philosophy of the Mankato Clinic has always been to bring quality healthcare services to the community, close to home whenever possible. The Mankato Clinic continues to grow; adding primary care and specialty providers, making it easy for patients to obtain the medical care they need within their own community.

Thank you to Almanac for highlighting an important conversation happening across Greater Minnesota.

We appreciated the opportunity to share more about our presence in Saint Peter and the importance of continuing to invest in community-based care.

Stories like this matter because access to local health care impacts families, businesses, schools, and entire communities.

Watch the story from Twin Cities PBS.

This is MaKenzie’s first Mother’s Day.

Starting a family is a dream come true for MaKenzie and Jerad Ristau. Now, they’re celebrating the little boy who changed their world.

“I look at my son, Bode, all the time and I think about the whole journey,” MaKenzie says.

The Ristaus began their path to parenthood with fertility care treatments at Mankato Clinic.

Their experience is as emotional as it is medical. MaKenzie and Jerad share their story because many couples have trouble conceiving, but few openly talk about it.

The Ristaus leaned on Galen Beckel, physician assistant, and Larissa Halvorson, nurse practitioner, to support and guide them along the way.

Today, their story is just beginning.

Happy Mother’s Day to MaKenzie and to all the moms, moms-to-be, and couples still hoping to grow their family.

In many small towns, access to health care is shrinking. In Saint Peter, we’re doing the opposite.

That’s why Almanac spoke with our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Andrew Lundquist about the importance of rural health care and why keeping it local matters.

We’re proud to continue serving Saint Peter and the surrounding communities with care that stays connected to the people who live here.

Tune in to Almanac at 7 p.m. Friday, May 8, on Twin Cities PBS.

Nurses are the heartbeat of every visit.

From the first conversation to the moments that matter most, they’re the ones making sure you feel heard, supported, and cared for.

It takes skill, experience, and a level of compassion that shows up in every interaction.

We’re proud of the impact they make on our community.

For many patients and team members at Mankato Clinic, Dr. Rolf Storvick helped define what it means to care for a community. We’re deeply saddened to share he passed away over the weekend.

Dr. Rolf Storvick joined the clinic in 1984 and spent 34 years building our nephrology (kidney care) services from the ground up, serving in dual roles in primary and specialty care.

Even after his retirement in 2018, his influence never really left. It lives on through those he mentored, the care he helped shape, and the standard he set for those who followed. He was a trusted colleague, a teacher to many, and a steady presence throughout his time here.

We extend our condolences to his family, including his brother, Mankato Clinic internal medicine physician Dr. Eric Storvick, and to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed.

At Mankato Clinic, we’re investing in the future of health care.

We are proud to partner with South Central College. When we combine on-the-job training with classroom learning, our medical assistants are prepared to care!

It’s National Apprenticeship Week, and we’re highlighting community partners who support hands‑on learning in fields like healthcare.

Mankato Clinic, a multi‑specialty medical practice serving patients across the region, provides a Medical Assisting Apprenticeship in partnership with South Central College. Hear how apprentices like Samantha Dulueg are gaining valuable experience while building confidence and skills for patient‑care careers.

The Mankato Clinic Foundation is proud to support MY Place as they expand access to mental health care for children in our community.

Bringing care into spaces where kids already feel safe removes barriers and helps them get support when they need it most. Check out this story from KEYC News Now!

Community partners came out to Mankato Youth Place for a ribbon cutting for its newly established Mental Health Program on Wednesday, April 29.
