Warm welcome to our new trainer, Paul Tom!

Paul is a uniquely qualified trainer with a strong background in physics, mathematics, and defensive techniques. Paul attended SUNY Oneonta and received his masters from CW post before being accepted into Marine Corps Officer Candidate School where he was commissioned to the rank of Lieutenant. With a deep understanding of body mechanics and functional movement, he creates highly personalized training programs that optimize performance and reduce the risk of injury. His expertise in affine transformations and mechanics allows him to tailor each program to the specific needs and goals of his clients, whether they are focused on strength, mobility, or rehabilitation.
In addition to his scientific approach to fitness, Paul has a background in training cadets at the police academy, where he specialized in defensive tactics techniques. This experience has honed his ability to teach practical skills that require precision, control, and quick decision-making under pressure. Combining his knowledge of body mechanics with real-world defensive training, Paul offers a comprehensive approach to fitness and self-defense, ensuring his clients not only build strength and mobility but also develop the skills needed for personal protection and safety.
Paul believes while getting people to a target weight or fitness level is important, the real value comes from fostering an appreciation of a healthy and holistic lifestyle that will carry on throughout a persons life. Paul teaches police officers about weight management, and overall wellness and has practiced meditation and mindfulness since 2016. Paul is also New York state certified to teach defensive tactics and has knowledge and experience in several forms of martial arts and self defense.
