Hello everyone,

We're excited for our first Fresh Start Fund event tomorrow! Preparations are going well, and we've raised over $700 to cover all the food!

We expect over 50 attendees, and any leftover food will be donated to local sober living houses.

Join us on August 31st at 5:00 p.m. at Fulford United Methodist Church, 1900 NE 164th St, North Miami Beach, FL 33162.

Event Details:

Fresh Start Fund: A supportive gathering with a meal and fellowship. Donations will support individuals in recovery.

The Fresh Start Fund

Thank you for being part of our sober living community. We're proud of our history helping people and plan to continue this at a high level. To be clear, we are a for-profit business that relies on program fees to operate. While many residents pay their weekly program fees, we are also providing scholarships and financial assistance to more individuals than ever before.

As many of you know, financial times are increasingly tough. In my eight years here, I’ve never seen so many people struggling to make ends meet. When someone joins our program, I promise them that we will provide the essentials: food, clothing, and shelter. A lot of individuals come in with just the clothes on their backs and hope for a better future.

To help these men rebuild their lives, we've established "The Fresh Start Fund," seeking support from our community to provide food, clothing, and transportation. Every donation will directly support these necessities, with no funds used for shelter or the business itself. 100% of your contribution will assist the individual, and none will go to the Sober Living business.

If you are interested in helping this project, please contact us for more information. Currently, our managers and owners are coming together to assist these new individuals, and we need your help.

This week, we wanted to discuss something more important: the primary purpose of helping others.

We were thinking about this after a really great Saturday night. We went to a meditation meeting at the West Dixie Clubhouse. We were surprised to see twenty members from our community that were there, all meditating and joining in! It was amazing to see.

Earlier this evening, two members of our program shared that they plan to spend time with their families tonight. Previously, their families couldn’t be around them due to their addictions. Now, they are reconnecting with their loved ones!

One of our managers from Coral House #1 saved up enough money to get a hotel by the beach for his family next week! He was so happy and proud of himself, and he told us he loved us for helping him get there.

Finally, we promoted a member of our community named Will to manager! He's now in charge of setting up new meetings and connecting us with more rehabs so we can help even more people. He was very excited for this new opportunity.

Seriously, is there any better paycheck than that?

We've been way too caught up in the business side of things and totally forgot the amazing stuff that's actually happening here. We're helping people who are going through seriously tough times, and they're getting better and changing their lives in awesome ways. We're super grateful for how our program is set up, with the meetings, the step work, and everyone really wanting to change. Without that structure, it just wouldn't work. Seeing the program do so well and watching people get their lives back on track is what really matters. That's what we're going to focus on from now on - it's way more important than any profits.

Please join us this week in focusing on what matters and focusing on our primary purpose!
