Confusion around Collagen Supplements:

Currently there are only 3 brands I trust for BEAUTY specifically.

You see, there are different types…and they function differently in various areas of the body.

Starting on our 30’s, collagen declines naturally.

Add sugar, alcohol, sees oils, heavy metals that attack our natural collagen…it’ll accelerate the process.

Here’s what you need to know:

💎 Type 1 collagen makes up 85-90% of your skin's collagen. Only around 15% is type 3. So the type of collagen matters.

💎 Sourcing: Wild Caught fish like Red Snapper from clean Scandanavian waters, processed according to EU standards OR pastured raised, grass/ veggie fed cows from New Zealand or Germany.

💎 Dosage and Delivery System: If no patented delivery system, then 10 grams...but for formulas with a patented delivery system and clinical studies to show higher absorption, 5 grams per dose is fine.

I prefer formulas that have a biostimulatory effect to stimulate our own type 1 collagen production. 🧬

🌼 Blends with amino acids like Lutein, which comes from marigold extract will help to break up free radical damage in the skin for those with melasma and pigmentation.

💧 Liquid versus Powder: Liquid is closest to its original form. Once you hydro luxe, crystallize, or powder the formula…then you have to add water to deactivate.

I have a brand that offers BOTH liquid and powder. The powder is cheaper, but my clients and colleagues that switched for a cost savings report that their skin is simply not as hydrated, dewy, and glowy as it is with the liquid formula. 🌞

So there you have it…

It’s not that all other brands are bad…they simply may be more ideal for gut heath or bones and joints. 🦴 🦶

It’s not just about blending quality ingredients together either. It’s about absorption and uptake. So I opt for formulas that are heavily tested and have published peer reviewed clinical trials to prove efficacy.

If you have tried collagen supplements and saw very little results in your skin, the above mentioned reasons may be why.

If you are taking a collagen supplement that is a Thpe 3 collagen…and that only makes up 10-15% of your skins collagen…then you are only going to have a minimal improvement in the appearance of your skin.

In aesthetics they show us photos like these from the New England Journal of medicine, and talk about sun exposure damaging the skin…but they don’t discuss what’s really going on.

Here’s what they tell us:

This man is a 69 year old truck driver that has spent the last 30 years making his living behind the wheel. 🛻

Half of his face looks normal for his age, but because of the sun hitting the left side of his face…it looks decades older.

The name of this condition is Unilateral Dermatoheliosis (one-sided photo aging)

But let’s dig a little deeper and discuss what they DON’T address in aesthetics education.

As I traveled across America, I have witnessed the typical diet of a truck driver, especially at truck stops. 🇺🇸

Fast food, seed oils, soda filled with high fructose corn syrup, served by the gallon. 🌽 🍟 🥤

The message from our educational system: SUN BAD

✨ I AM TAKING A SABBATICAL FROM MY CLINICAL PRACTICE! ✨

This week in honor of my birthday, I wanted to share some big news.

After 25 years in Orlando, I have decided to take a sabbatical from my clinical practice starting July 15th during the slow season when most clients are busy vacationing with their families.

This will allow me some much needed time with family and to redesign my life and business, while I pursue my dream of becoming a seasonal resident and search for my next home out of state.

But don’t worry, I will return in the Fall season, just in time to finalize my daughter’s wedding plans and I will open my calendar to once again see clients before the holidays.

In the meantime, I will be accepting appointments prior to my departure, and I will soon announce my return date and fall booking availability.

While I am out of town, I will still be available for virtual consultations and to support you with your at-home Health & Beauty regimen. (More details coming soon!)

I also have my trusted colleague at the studio for your skincare emergencies and HLC Wellness & Aesthetic in Lake Mary for your Body Slimming needs.

✨ I AM TAKING A SABBATICAL FROM MY CLINICAL PRACTICE! ✨

This week in honor of my birthday, I wanted to share some big news.

Angelique Renae is a Holistic Beauty & Wellness Expert and Licensed Esthetician with a passion for non-invasive and natural solutions to our health & beauty challenges. After suffering burnout and fatigue in a high stress Corporate Sales Career, Angelique started her own path to wellness. It is through her own personal struggles and challenges that she developed a passion for supporting her clients naturally with high-end treatments for the mind, body and soul. By introducing Advanced European Technology to the Orlando market she feels she can provide a new level of treatments that have less discomfort, less cost, and faster results for when diet and exercise are simply not enough.
