Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day is a day of remembrance for pregnancy loss and infant death, which includes, however is not limited to, miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, and the death of a newborn.

National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day on October 15th offers a day of remembrance to parents, family, and friends for pregnancy loss and infant death.

Pregnancy loss and infant death may include but are not limited to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, or the death of a newborn. Since 1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss, many families know the grief of this kind of loss. It’s often not spoken about, and yet, those who mourn often need support and understanding. The experience is painful and sometimes overwhelming.

Thank you all so much for the birthday shout outs. There were too many to get back to you all, but I go through and read the most amazing messages from all my family, friends, people that I looked up to so much with admiration and respect. I am the person and I am today because of all of you. And when I go through trials and tribulations I Ireflect on all the amazingness that is around me.

I am so excited to announce that as a part of my TNFI Perinatal & Maternal Health Initiative the Tyler Nicole Foundation in collaboration with the Nassau County Department of Health, Nassau County Perinatal Services Network’s Education and Outreach Workgroup will be putting on an event titled "A Conversation Surrounding Black Maternal & Infant Health".

This documentary is an amazing opportunity for the public to learn about the perinatal loss crisis in this country. The event will include a panel discussion and panelist members including Sharon Turnage, PhD Candidate, LMSW, CASAC-T to shed light on the perinatal loss crisis in the US and how it impacts families. We'll be screening the documentary "Toxic: A Black Women's Story," a powerful film exploring the impact of stress on pregnant black women. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn and engage on this important topic.

I was so fortunate to be a part of such an amazing event. About a month ago I had the pleasure of presenting to Curtis High School nursing students about perinatal loss (the loss a pregnancy/infant) and its impact in the United States more specifically on Staten Island which is experiencing an increase in perinatal loss.

The result of this collaboration was that the students did research in the area of perinatal loss & health disparities and the findings were presented at the museum. This is such an important topic and I am happy that this is coming to the forefront of conversation and research.
