Congratulations to Edie Fiala on being named the Ohio School Social Worker of the Year by the Ohio School Social Work Association! Fiala supports the learning communities of Fairfax and Oxford elementary schools in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District and serves as the district's homeless education liaison.

The award highlights the dedicated role Fiala plays to establish critical links between families, school, and the community, along with providing services to children, families, and school staff to support student wellness and academic success.

Our afternoon will include a presentation and training from The Center For Family Safety & Healing.
During our time with them, we will:
- Examine online safety as a developmental process for adolescents.
- Explore how to implement relevant tools about the mind-body connection and technology use (including somatic resources and body map exercises.)
- Identify resources for social work professionals to support digital well-being in adolescents.
