A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM Saturday through SUNDAY TO 8 PM EDT MONDAY... ** WHAT...Heat index values up to around 100 expected. ** WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut and southeast New York. ** WHEN...From noon Saturday to 8 PM EDT Monday. ** IMPACTS...High temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Heat Advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees for two or more consecutive days, or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
