When I say I’m on call, it isn’t cute branding.

It’s not a marketing phrase.
It’s not aesthetic.
It’s not flexible hours.

It means my ringer is on at 3am.

It means I sleep lightly.
It means my phone stays within reach at dinner, in the shower, at the grocery store, at my kids’ activities.

It means I don’t commit to trips.
I don’t schedule hair appointments.
I don’t book sessions outside a certain radius.

Because if your contractions pick up, I go.

It means leaving dinner half eaten.
It means whispering to my husband, “I'm headed to a birth.” at 4:08 in the morning and kissing him goodbye.
It means grabbing my bag and walking out the door without knowing when I’ll be home.

It means your due date lives in the back of my mind every single day that month.

I am watching the calendar.
I am checking in.
I am mentally prepared.

Because birth does not wait for convenience.

It doesn’t care if it’s Christmas morning.
Or my child’s birthday.
Or 2:17am after I just fell asleep.

And when you hire me, you are not just booking a time slot.

You are reserving my presence.

You are reserving my availability.
My energy.
My focus.

You are asking me to build my life around the possibility of your labor starting at any moment.

And I say yes to that intentionally.

Because this work matters.

But that level of commitment deserves to be understood.

When you invest in birth photography or doula support, you are not just paying for the hours I’m physically in the room.

You are paying for the weeks of availability.
The mental load of readiness.
The nights on standby.
The rearranged schedule.

You are paying for someone who is prepared to show up fully, no matter when your baby decides it’s time.

Your birth is not a side job to me or a cute trend I saw on pinterest.
It's not a "well if I can" kind of session.

It is something I structure my entire life around.

And that kind of presence requires real commitment.

From the very first phone call Kaitlyn was kind, calm, understanding and most of all very encouraging. I knew minimal things about labor and was trying for a VBAC.
Kaitlyn encouraged me that it was not only possible but that it could be a beautiful experience. My husband and I ended up taking birth classes with Kaitlyn and it completely changed everything. We learned so much about labor and the process as well as the different position we could do to find comfort in labor. Kaitlyn also shared several different tools we could use to help get through the contractions like oils, massage points, birth comb ect. She showed my husband how to do certain positions and the right places to massage to help me in labor. Kaitlyn goes above and beyond to fully educate you on all your labor options and each step of labor. She discusses the different options you have for labor and helps you create a birth plan as well. This was super helpful because we got to discuss all the different options like pain management, room ambiance, cord clamping, ect. Kaitlyn followed up after her classes to check on me for the rest of my pregnancy and even talked to me during my induction to help calm my nerves. She also takes the time to check in after your birth experience to see how it all went. Not only did Kaitlyn help me achieve my VBAC and a great birth experience; she equipped my husband with the tools to feel confident in helping me through labor. She was the best addition to our pregnancy and labor journey. You cannot go wrong with trusting Kaitlyn to be apart of your pregnancy and labor team.

A doula is not someone you call when labor starts and hope for the best.

We are not a last-minute rescue.
We are not a savior rushing in to “fix” birth.

A doula is someone you build a relationship with months before you ever feel a contraction.

When you hire a doula early, the real work begins long before labor. We walk beside you as you learn, question, process, and prepare. We help you understand your body, your options, and your voice, so by the time birth arrives, you’re not looking to someone else to save you. You already know you can do this.

We don’t just attend a birth.
We help shape the experience you walk into it with.

We:
~Educate you on the physiology of labor so fear doesn’t run the show
~Help you understand common interventions, your choices, and your rights
~Talk through what-ifs so nothing feels shocking or overwhelming
~Help you build a birth plan that’s flexible, realistic, and truly yours
~Teach your partner how to support you with confidence — not panic
~Normalize what labor looks and feels like so you don’t doubt yourself
~Help you practice positions, comfort measures, breathing, and coping tools
~Prepare you mentally and emotionally, not just physically
~Hold space for your fears, questions, and past experiences
~Remind you again and again that your body is not broken

By the time labor begins, we aren’t strangers walking into your birth.
