Gossip columnist Perez Hilton shared a powerful and unexpected faith story after spending 21 days in the hospital. At the center of it all was a moment he says changed everything: “God presented himself to me,” something he called “real” and “life-changing.”
Hilton revealed that his hospitalization was caused by taking medication on an empty stomach, leading to a severe condition involving an ulcer, perforation, and sepsis.
But in the midst of the physical pain, he says he encountered God in a way he never had before. Though he grew up Catholic, he admitted he had never truly believed—until now. “I don’t have to hope to believe. I know now,” he said.
The experience has sparked a deep spiritual shift. Hilton shared that he now wants to take his children to church every week, enroll them in a Catholic school, and build a faith-centered family life.
