CharterCARE’s computer systems are now back up and running as normal and the health system is continuing to provide safe, quality care to patients following a data security incident that disrupted our operations. Work to input paper patient records used by our caregivers while our systems were down into our electronic medical record (EMR) system is ongoing. We appreciate the resilience shown by our physicians and employees during this disruption and we thank our patients for their patience and continued loyalty to our facilities. Delivering safe, quality care is our most important priority.

Great Catch by Laura McQuesten, a registered nurse in Care One at Fatima. A nursing home patient came to the emergency department and had the wrong patient medication list in her file. The meds were ordered and the patient went to Care One where Laura noticed the meds were not correct. She notified the facility and requested the correct information and meds were ordered.

🎓 Congratulations to the eight graduates of the School of Medical Laboratory Science at Fatima Hospital! 🏥 After completing a rigorous year-long clinical laboratory internship program, these talented individuals are ready to embark on their careers. We are proud to announce that Cassidy Lariviere will continue her journey with CharterCARE. This collaboration between the School and esteemed institutions like the University of Rhode Island, Salve Regina University, and Rhode Island College, as well as Rhode Island Hospital, provides a comprehensive educational experience.

Medical Laboratory Scientists, equipped with their extensive knowledge and skills, play a vital role in patient care, including the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of various conditions. We recognize the graduates from Salve Regina University, the University of Rhode Island, and Rhode Island College—Holden Ferrari, Katelyn Thayer, Emily Collins, Alyssa McNamara, Valeria Aguilar, Kenneth Angell, Brynn Mendes, and Cassidy Lariviere—for their outstanding achievements.

CharterCARE News
Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. recently experienced a data security incident that has disrupted our operations. Upon learning of this, we took our systems offline to protect them and launched an investigation with the help of third-party cybersecurity specialists. While our investigation continues, we are focused on addressing the pressing needs of our patients as we work diligently to return to normal operations as quickly as possible.

Both hospitals continue to accept walk-ins through the emergency departments.

Scheduled surgical procedures remain as planned unless patients are otherwise notified by their physician’s office.

Visiting hours are not affected.

CharterCARE computer systems are down and temporarily affecting inpatient and outpatient operations at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital and Roger Williams Medical Center.

We are in the process of reevaluating our downtime capabilities and may reschedule some appointments. Affected patients will be contacted.

CharterCARE hospitals are following downtime procedures, including the use of paper records, until this is resolved. Some patient procedures may be affected and those patients will be contacted. Patient visitation is not affected.

We are working closely with IT experts to resolve it as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Fatima Hospital has again achieved the American Heart Association’s ‘Get With The Guidelines’ Gold stroke quality achievement award. This is the fourth consecutive year Fatima has gained Gold or better award status. 🏥💛

Get With The Guidelines puts the expertise of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association to work for hospitals nationwide, helping ensure patient care is aligned with the latest evidence- and research-based treatment standards. This is an in- hospital program for improving stroke care by promoting consistent adherence to these guidelines, which can minimize the long-term effects of a stroke and even prevent death.
