In this 4-week series we will learn/ use breathwork practices, gentle movement and meditation to release physical tension, settle the nervous system and focus the mind.
You will learn how to practice several breath work (pranayama) techniques and learn the benefits behind these practices.
Each class will start with a breath practice to cultivate energy in the body and calm the mind. We will then move through a gentle movements to circulate that energy throughout the body and get ready for stillness. The final portion of the class is dedicated to a quieting meditation and an extended shavasana with essential oils.

This workshop would be accessible to those who have limited mobility.

Hot stone massage is a natural therapy in which warmed stones are positioned on parts of the client's body of to maximize the therapeutic benefit. The use of hot stones for healing dates can back to ancient times. The stones used are typically river rocks or other very smooth-surfaced stones made of basalt. These stones are heated in sanitizing water before use. The high iron content in basalt helps the stones retain heat during the massage. Hot stone massages are beneficial on both physical and psychological levels.

Hot stone massage is suited to people who tend to feel chilly or who have cold feet. It's also suited for people who have muscle tension but prefer a lighter massage. The heat relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist to work the muscles without using deep pressure.

What makes our herbal dispensary special?
Chinese herbal medicine uses different herbs in a well-balanced formula. There are hundreds of traditional patent formulas that are proven effective, but we strive to go beyond. Your herbalist will create a formula unique to your condition. Unlike other dispensaries, our formulas are digitized and weighed using specialized software, minimizing human error. Our herbs only come from growers and suppliers who meet our strict quality standards. Currently, we provide herbs in granule form that can be mixed into water or tea, or vegetarian capsules that can be easily swallowed.
At Tai Chi Acupuncture and Wellness we have our own herbal dispensary with over 120 herbs on-site at our Danvers location. We offer herbal consultations or consultations that are added to acupuncture appointments.
