We’re excited to share something special with our birth community!
We deeply value collaboration with the birthworkers who support families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum season. That’s why we’re thrilled to share that Dr. Erin is one of the contributing educators in a new professional training for postpartum doulas: The Postpartum Doula Skill Builder.
This course was created by nine educators in the perinatal field to help address some of the most common gaps doulas experience after their initial training—particularly around areas like feeding support, perinatal mental health awareness, nervous system regulation, and understanding scope of practice.
Together, the instructors bring:
✨ 60+ years of combined perinatal experience
✨ 2,000+ families supported
✨ 12 academic degrees across related fields
The course includes workshops and discussions covering topics such as:
• Postpartum medical literacy — what to recognize and when to refer
• The doula’s role on the infant feeding support team
• Perinatal mood disorders and referrals
• Establishing healthy infant sleep foundations
• Nervous system leadership in postpartum care
• Pumping and bottle feeding support
• Navigating insurance and reimbursement
• Working with doula agencies
Dr. Erin contributed a workshop and Q&A discussion, bringing her experience working with infants, mothers, and families through nervous system-focused care and collaborative postpartum support.
We’re honored to see her part of an educational project dedicated to helping postpartum doulas feel more confident and supported in their work with families.
