The darkest birth I’ve been to yet.
It was the middle of the day, as baby began to emerge the sky became darker and darker. I struggled to keep up with my camera settings as the room that was once flooded with natural sunlight grew dim. With every second, the world grew darker.
Just as baby emerged, the total eclipse happened.
I rushed outside while my client was getting settled in the bed and there it was, the sun completely covered by the moon. We heard shouts from neighbors and nearby schools cheering as the moon took center stage.
Shortly thereafter I was joined by the midwife, husband and big brother as we stood in astonishment.
As quickly as the darkness came, it left. Light entered back in during this supernatural day.
Such a beautiful reminder that, just like the moon and the sun, we are also creation, doing our part through this tide that is life.
“Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord from the heavens!
Praise him from the skies!
Praise him, all his angels!
Praise him, all the armies of heaven!
Praise him, sun and moon!
Praise him, all you twinkling stars!
Praise him, skies above!
Praise him, vapors high above the clouds!
Let every created thing give praise to the Lord, for he issued his command, and they came into being.
He set them in place forever and ever. His decree will never be revoked.”
Psalms 148:1-6 NLT
