If you're here for massage therapy or to learn how to better your pregnancy and birth experiences, it’s important to know I've taken the time to learn my trades well. In addition to continually furthering my education in field related studies, every new body in my office is a chance to refine my intuition, knowledge and craft. It’s a privilege and unique opportunity to share the information I've l

earned that can help you reach your desired goals. This learning is a two way street, because even though I'm excited to share with you, I'm also gaining priceless knowledge that can only be attained through experience. I can only do so much in your sessions, classes and consultations. I believe educating you on how to help yourself is where the road to self-advocacy and optimum wellness begins. I can help you understand the functionality of your body, while teaching you to tune into and discover your own body awareness. This enables you to take caring for your body in your own hands. You'll be able to knowledgeably move forward with a plan and the confidence to reach your goals.

Most people have heard of the Golden Hour after birth.

But the truth is… the first hour doesn’t always look the way we imagine.

Sometimes those first moments are calm and full of awe.
Sometimes they’re overwhelming, emotional, or unexpected.

Often they’re a little bit of everything.

In that first hour, your baby is learning the outside world for the very first time. Your body is still transitioning after birth. Skin-to-skin contact, delayed cord clamping, and early feeding all support that process in powerful ways.

But just as important is something less talked about. And that’s protecting the space around those first moments.

Less rushing.
More presence.
Time for you and your baby to begin together.

However your first hour unfolds, it becomes part of your birth story.

What do you remember most about your first hour after birth?

This February, we will celebrate the birthday of my oldest daughter. Her sweet spirit forever changed the trajectory of my life. She came on her own time and in her own way—no doubt a testament to her unique personality that would unfold through the years. She lights our life with love, laughter, and her creativity.

Her birth ignited the fire in me and brought my calling into focus: to serve families in birth. It taught me we can be supported through the unknown and uncertainty of it all. It taught me that our hearts can be held as our path unfolds before us. And with every birth I attend, I strive to show up with that same steady, caring presence that held us all those years ago.

Eleven years ago, she made me a mama. The very next year, I officially took on my first doula client. Ten years, and I’m still here doing the work of my life’s calling.

I’m deeply grateful for the network I’ve built over the last 10 years in doula work. This is the system that mentors me, supports me, and answer the phone at odd hours when I need advice. I’m encouraged, lifted up, and challenged to continue growing.

Ten years in this field, and I’m still learning every day. Still finding lessons, purpose, and moments that ask me to pause and reframe. Because birth calls on us in ways don’t expect it. Because it challenges us in ways we don’t always see coming.

Because I’ve dedicated myself to the families I serve, I trust that things unfold the way they need to. That trust didn’t come overnight. It came through time, circumstance, and showing up again and again in all kinds of situations.

I do this work because it called me. Sometimes the answer to that call shifts and looks different. It still shows up, steady and strong.

And for that, I’m grateful. Grateful for the guidance, encouragement, and mentorship that surround me. When I’m supported, my family is supported too, and that is a blessing I don’t take for granted.

And just like that I’m leaving one birth, heading to another. Welcoming 2026 exactly where I’m meant to be. 🤍

As this year closes out, I wanted to take a moment and thank the families. Your trust in me and belief in what I do is a blessing to my family. When you choose me, this is who you support. These people here are my everything. Everything I do is for them. So, thank you for being part of this business that enables me to provide and be there for them. Happy New Year! I’ll catch you on the flip side!

Birth is just the beginning — here’s how I can help you heal in those tender first weeks. 🤍

Imagine this: You’re newly postpartum. You’ve just done the most incredible thing—bringing a baby into the world. Now you have this beautiful new little one who depends on you for every ounce of nourishment, care, and love.

Meanwhile, your body is readjusting. Your shoulders and neck ache from hours of holding, feeding, and staring in wonder at your baby. Your center of gravity has shifted. This change in posture affects your back and hips. You might notice swelling or stagnant fluids—whether from IVs during labor or simply your body changing after birth. All of this is completely normal.

As your doula and massage therapist, I come to you in those first tender weeks postpartum. We work around your baby’s needs— feeding, snuggling, resting— while giving your body the care it deserves.

I can even show you how to nurse in a side-lying position while I continue to release tension in your back, hips, neck, and shoulders.

This is truly customized care. I’d love to be a part of your recovery team! I offer postpartum in home massage packages. I open just 2 spots per month for postpartum massage packages. Book your due month now — spots fill quickly. www.withguidedhands.com

✨ 5am, post-birth, rooftop selfie.
Still smiling. Still grateful. Still showing up.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted an after birth selfie, so here’s a little reminder: this work is raw, beautiful, sacred—and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. 💛

Labor Positions Using an Exercise Ball | Mock Labor Flow Part 2

The use of an exercise ball in labor is a tool for comfort, alignment, and progress. In this video and carousel post, I share supportive ways to use an exercise ball during labor, based on real-time labor flow and movement.

Featured positions include:
• Forward leaning to ease tension while using gravity to encourage progress
• Sitting on the ball in the shower to combine warmth, water, and upright movement
• Standing lunge with ball support to create asymmetry and space

DOULA TIP ✨Remember, don’t pay too much attention to your labor sensations until it demands more focus. Then, use your breath and movement to help you manage as things get stronger. These positions are gentle and allow you to move intuitively. They offer physical relief while promoting optimal positioning and descent of the baby.

Grateful for Barb’s invitation to sit in on a beautiful, family-centered birth class today. Her years of experience, extensive knowledge, and heart showed up in every detail. It was such a gift to observe, connect, and witness the energy of families preparing together.

Bonus! I was able to reconnect with a couple of familiar faces.

Birth work isn’t just about the moment of birth—it’s about showing up, learning from each other, and staying rooted in community. Today was exactly that. ✨
