The PROTECT Protocol is a key component of biological dentistry, designed to support safer, more comprehensive patient care. By focusing on proper preparation, reducing toxic exposure, and protecting both patients and practitioners during procedures, this approach reflects a deeper commitment to whole-body health.

At the International Academy of Biological Dentistry & Medicine (IABDM), protocols like PROTECT help set the standard for biologically informed dental practices.

Your body already knows how to heal — what it needs is the right inputs, and less of what's blocking the process.

That means your job isn't to fix yourself. It's to bring awareness back to yourself and listen.

What's one thing you're ready to remove from your life that might be interfering with your healing?

You’re never too old to start building muscle.

Muscle acts as a metabolic reservoir, storing and utilizing glucose efficiently, preventing insulin resistance, and protecting against chronic disease. The study found that muscle mass—not BMI—was the strongest predictor of survival, independent of fat mass, cardiovascular risk factors, and metabolic markers.

I used to think lifting weights was just for bodybuilders—I didn’t love the gym and thought cardio was enough. But when I learned that strength training activates longevity pathways like mTOR and AMPK, protects mitochondria, and triggers the release of myokines—hormone-like compounds that reduce inflammation and enhance brain function—I realized it wasn’t just about looking fit. It was about living longer, stronger, and healthier!

You don’t need a gym or fancy equipment. Strength training—whether it’s bodyweight exercises, resistance bands, or lifting weights—builds muscle, protects your metabolic health, and safeguards your future.

At the end of the day, it’s not just about living longer it’s about living better.

The way you speak to yourself and treat your body is everything.

Not just in big moments, but in the everyday thoughts no one else hears. The tone you carry toward your body can either create tension or create care. It shapes your choices, your habits, and ultimately how you live.

If this gave you something to think about, don’t just scroll past it. Follow for more like this.

A recent study of over 3,000 adults aged 50+ found that something as simple as how often we eat, especially whether we eat breakfast, may influence muscle health as we age. Those who skipped breakfast or ate fewer meals per week had lower muscle mass and a higher risk of sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss).

This adds to a growing body of research suggesting that it is not just what we eat, but also when and how consistently we eat that shapes our physiology. This is called chrononutrition.

From a clinical perspective, this reinforces a key principle: As we get older, the body becomes less responsive to anabolic signals like protein intake, so regular nourishment throughout the day becomes even more important for maintaining muscle, metabolism, and resilience.

As always, context matters, but rhythm and consistency in eating patterns appear to be foundational for healthy aging. Of course, we also need to honor our own personalized rhythms and find what works for us.

I get asked all the time — what’s the secret to good health?

But there is no secret. There are just fundamentals, done consistently.

Start with food. Eat a whole foods diet — vegetables, quality proteins, healthy fats, real ingredients. What you put on your plate three times a day is one of the most powerful decisions you make.

Move every day. Get your walks in. Add some strength training. You don’t need to do a HIIT bootcamp every day, you just need to be consistent. Movement is medicine.

Prioritize sleep as a non-negotiable. Poor sleep unravels everything else you’re working toward. (New parents and residents — I see you. This one’s not for you right now. Survive first, optimize later.)

Find a stress practice that works for you. Breathwork is one of the most underrated tools we have — it’s free, it’s accessible, and it works.

And maybe most importantly: invest in your relationships. Loneliness is damaging to your health. Spend real, intentional time with the people who matter to you.

These are the fundamentals, and when you build your life around them, everything changes.
