Dementia is no longer a challenge we can think of as “down the road.”

It is a growing public health and workforce issue affecting healthcare systems, families, and communities worldwide.

The World Alzheimer Report 2025 reinforces what many care teams already experience daily: as dementia rates continue to rise, education and preparedness matter more than ever. Understanding dementia supports empathy today—and responsible planning for tomorrow.

Add a little green to your life – it’s National Houseplant Day! 🌿

In dementia care, environments matter more than we often realize. Natural elements like houseplants can help create calmer, more grounding spaces, which in turn support emotional regulation and meaningful connection.

Through programs like Dementia Live® and Compassionate Touch®, care teams learn how sensory experiences and cognitive challenges impact behavior, communication, and well-being.

Sometimes, the smallest changes can make the biggest difference.

One seemingly simple but effective way to support someone living with dementia is to ❇️ slow down. ❇️

Moving more gently, allowing extra time for responses, and being fully present can all help reduce anxiety and confusion. Calm pacing and quiet reassurance often communicate more than words ever could.

Small changes in how we approach care can make a meaningful difference for both caregivers and those they support. This year, we challenge you to reframe dementia care as more than just completing tasks. Instead, prioritize creating moments of safety, trust, and connection.

Every new year brings the chance to care more thoughtfully. This year, make dementia education more than a goal; turn it into a priority.

Behind every diagnosis is a person. Behind every behavior is a story. When communities invest in empathy-based training, care feels calmer, staff feel more confident, and culture begins to shift from reacting to truly understanding.

Dementia Live® helps teams step into the dementia experience and carry that understanding back into every interaction.

Thank you for walking alongside us in creating more understanding, empathy, and dignity for people living with dementia and their care partners. 💜

Americans aren’t just afraid of aging—they’re afraid of what aging without support looks like.

According to new national data from West Health, nearly 7 in 10 adults worry about memory loss or dementia as they grow older. And only 27% feel the U.S. is ready to support people living with dementia.

That gap isn’t just statistical—it’s personal. It shows up in every moment a caregiver feels overwhelmed, in every emergency response that misses the mark, in every workplace, home, or hospital that isn’t dementia-aware.

But it also points to opportunity.

We have the tools. We have the insight. What we need is empathy in action—experiences that not only educate, but truly shift how we respond to cognitive change.

That’s what Dementia Live® is built for. It’s why communities, health providers, and organizations across the country are using immersive simulation to prepare—not just on paper, but in real life.
