When Cassidy was a junior and senior in high school, she took classes at North Royalton High School then went to Tri-C for class, and then headed back to high school for band practice. She had about an hour gap between Tri-C and band, so she used to come to the old office since it was along the way. She would have lunch, nap, or do homework. Since she was a minor, she was not allowed to see or know anything about clients. She literally has hidden under the lobby counter and once in the closet off the lobby. Well now she is 23 and old enough to understand the importance of confidentially and HIPPA. Next week we have a new office coordinator starting. In the interim this week, Cassidy is helping out answering phones, checking in clients, and passing out statements before she heads to Kansas for her first zoo job. We have come full circle. She is now allowed above the counter. Remember to be kind to one another and help take care of each other.

We are concerned to learn that the federal government is shutting down the 988 National Su***de & Crisis Lifeline next month. Since its inception in 2022, the lifeline has had over 1.3 million calls. This lifeline literally saved lives and now is being shuttered. Youth, especially vulnerable youth like those in the LGBTQ+ community, matter and deserve our support. Remember to be kind to one another and help take care of each other. Lives depend on it.

The 988 National Su***de & Crisis Lifeline will stop providing tailored support options to LGBTQ+ youth and young adults on July 17.

We have been concerned about the widespread cuts at the Department of Health and Human Services. These cuts affect virtually every American and are leading to a sort of healthcare dark ages that could take years to recover from. Below is a letter from several NIH staff sharing their worries about harm to science and how that affects our very health and wellbeing. I have some mixed news to share. Our beloved Katie Lane will be leaving RPA on Thursday June 12th. She started with us part time on July 17, 2017 and came on full time October 3, 2017. I knew her from my time at Ohio Guidestone and knew she was the right person to be our first office coordinator. She could juggle multiple tasks, was organized, could calm anxious parents and referents on the phone, and was steady and caring in the lobby. She has been an integral part of our team and the initial voice and face of our practice.

Those of you who know Katie, know she is passionate about the haunted house industry and well known for her makeup, costumes, and acting. I always knew that the only way we would lose Katie was if she was offered a job in the haunt industry. Well Froggy’s Fog made her an offer she could not refuse. She will be a client service representative and even get paid for attending all the trade shows and conventions she already attends as a presenter. She will put her vast knowledge to work with clients across the entertainment industry. While we are sad to see her go, we are so happy for and proud of her. Feel free to drop her a line or stop in to say goodbye. We will miss her greatly yet are looking forward to seeing her spread her wings and fly. Teachers play such a vital role in the lives of youth. They can provide safe spaces for youth to learn academically, socially, and emotionally. Unfortunately their profession is under attack with too many outside forces trying to tell them what to do. Teachers deserve the utmost respect and support. Proud of the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo for creating calming sensory spaces. These areas are an example of acceptance and not just awareness. People from all walks of life will be able to use those areas when feeling overstimulated. Remember to be kind to one another and help take care of each other.
