The Carnegie Art Center will be hosting a new indoor Winter Artist Market on Saturday, December 6 from 11am-4pm. There will be eleven local artists featured with jewelry, candles, fiber art, clothing, ceramics, prints, and more for sale throughout the Carnegie Art Center (240 Goundry Street, North Tonawanda)!

There may be some complimentary hot cocoa too ☕️😎🎄

Highly recommend checking out The IroNTon if you haven’t already. The enhancements made to the building by the owners have been truly outstanding for North Tonawanda. 👏 The restaurant is now open 7 days a week, making it convenient for anyone’s busy schedule!

Lumber City Development Corporation’s Small Business Spotlight of the month goes to Martinsville Soapworks located at 908 Niagara Fls Blvd, Suite 109, North Tonawanda, NY 14120 (at the historic Wurlizter building)! 📣 🎉

Heather Kalisiak has been in business since 1998 and is a North Tonawanda native. After moving to Pennsylvania briefly, she made her way back to NT to grow her business here. She mentions that she believes in NT, making it a great homebase & place to have a business. She showcased that passion while previously serving as Vice President of the Downtown Merchants Assocation, and chairing the Winter Walk while her business was on Webster Street. Martinsville Soap needed more space, so in 2023 she made they move and have found their location in the Wurlitzer Building to work well--but they are almost outgrowing this space too!

Lumber City Development Corporation helped Martinsville soap address those growth needs in 2022 when Heather was awarded our CDBG Microenterprise Grant. The funds were pivotal in getting furniture and supplies for the new location! 🧼🫧

Congrats to Martinsville Soapworks! Recognizing Heather Kalisiak this month was extremely fitting with the holiday season right around the corner and we want to remind folks to shop local and support the NT small businesses when you can! Keep an eye out for their holiday line dropping November 22nd, just in time to stock up on gifts for anyone in your life. 🎁

P.S. The back of the store is dedicated to the Delightful Octopus, which carries plushies, and other great little novelty items.
