Mom tip~ When it’s your turn to bring snack to the game, grab a couple bags of apples, bunches of bananas, or bags of carrots (Kids actually love the big ones)
You can pair it with:
* cups of nut butter, hummus, guac, or dressing
* granola bars ​
* popcorn
* homemade muffins ​

Get away from Gatorade and candy… you’ll be surprised how quickly YOUR snacks go!

It’s still dark out and I’m making salad 🥗

Food prep- Does anyone else find that the more they prep, the more everyone eats?

Stop the madness! Food prepping for the week, although an amazing habit, just doesn’t work in our house. We’ve got hungry teens and my husband and I eat at home throughout the week. So all the prepped food gets eaten!
This is a good thing!

Tip: create the habit of grabbing an extra dish! Whenever your chopping, slicing, dicing, grilling, baking, pan frying all the good for you fresh, whole food- pack up the leftovers for the next meal or two.
This makes life much easier and you’ll eat the fresh food over prepackaged. It only takes a couple more minutes and saves so much time later.

Simple soup tip-
Making a meat in the crock pot?
Finish cooking and remove the meat
If you have bones, put them back in the pot, fill to cover with water and let cook for additional time to remove all meat 1-12 hours.
(You don’t have to make bone broth for 12 hours if time doesn’t allow).
When you’re ready, strain broth twice through mesh strainer returning to pot.
Add frozen veggies, rice/potatoes/gf pasta/lentils, diced meat, S&P, and simmer for up to another hour.
Enjoy your soup!

🍲 Soup tips:
🍲 use up your cut veggies from the week and always keep some frozen veggies on hand- so easy to add to your meals
🍲 Make it a complete meal
🍲 Lots of colors! Try all kinds of veggies like peppers, squash (butternut squash is great)
🍲 Top your soup with avocado or add a bit of coconut milk to your broth for a creamy soup
