Reiki is not very well known in our area so many people ask

❓️"What is Reiki?" 🤔

🅰️ It is a Japanese healing modality that works by laying on of hands. It promotes deep relaxation and healing of the mind, body, and spirit.

I was introduced to Reiki in 2018 through my mom's holistic health journey after dealing with debilitating migraines for over 30 years then finding Reiki as a form of holistic natural treatment people go to when they've exhausted all other modern medicine.

As soon as I tried it for myself to handle anxiety and stress I was amazed so I quickly became certified and have been practicing it on anyone who would let me since!!

The reason someone would have Reiki done includes:

I feel like it's time to properly introduce myself here on IG

My name is Valerie Massie! As i go through earth school as a Capricorn theirs nothing I value more than being grounded and stable. I love routines, family bonding, and a solid leg day workout. 

I am a very new first time momma and have an incredible dream husband and I have 3 bonus kids. As my capricorn self i cant help but be obsessed with entrepreneurship manifesting a business Everything Holistic in March 2019. I am a Reiki Master,  nutritional coach, and yoga instructor. I was born and raised on a dairy farm just outside of the village of Melrose, Wisconsin. I moved to southern Indiana 8 years ago to pursue a career in agriculture.

Growing up I worked a lot on the farm.  Since as far back as I can remember before and after school my chores were to clean the barn, shovel in feed to the milking cows, fed calves, and run equipment for plant and harvest.  I  begged my parents to let me have chickens for a 4H project and they bought me 16 laying hens.

I knew I wanted to become a chicken farmer when I grew up. The struggle came when I got my dream career and didn't have  the energy to carry out the responsibilities required for the job. I was constantly fatigued throughout the day, my back, feet, and hips hurt. As I was walking around 4-10 miles each day. I also endured the stresses of management. Everyday I felt stress and anxiety if things broke or people were not doing what was asked.  It was my responsibility to fix the issues which required team meetings, adjusting schedules, disciplining, and get doors slammed in my face. I went to yoga and chiropractor outside of work to help my body and mind feel better. A few years into my career I stumbled upon a holistic health practitioner to help me with my anxiety simply by laying her hands on me which felt so healing and peace I've never experienced before. I started reading and investing more about why this is not more commonly known. I started to see the evil of big business, the elite leaders, and all the lies we are shown in the media, and by the global elites. (continues in comments)

How to let go of the victim mentality towards your health and live your dreams as a Reiki healer or yoga teacher in 90 days or less.

At age 12, I started working part-time during the school year and full-time in the summer on my parents' dairy farm in West Central Wisconsin.

Hot, humid, summer days throwing hay bales for days at a time from noon till sun down, milking 100 cows 2 or 3 times a day, waking up at 4:30am seven days a week to hand pitch feed before school, and trudged through feet of snow carrying buckets of steamy hot milk to 15-20 calves in sub zero temps morning, noon, and night. I never questioned it. I told my parents I didn’t want to sometimes, but that never changed the fact that the animals needed to fed and we needed them to sustain a living. I discovered the excitement of drinking beer and whiskey a lot, especially when in 4 years of college (UW River Falls). Farm work to payed bills and for school, barely passing my classes, and partying like on the weekends... and after work... and between classes. I lived in this box work, party, and just got a BS degree. I figured having that “big girl” job at a chicken farm with a solid steady salary would be the finish line for this girl. That is why I landed a job in Southern Indiana at an egg farm. 

Looking back now at that lifestyle many people I was hanging out with were isolating, suffering with depression, sucidal thoughts, and I watched my best friend since 2nd grade grieve after her ex-boy friend commit su***de after a break up during that time.

I'm saying this because this was the world I knew. This is the unfiltered raw facts of what happened in my life.

I was lost, low spirited, lonely, and felt powerless to change a thing. I was a victim of a life being told what to do, I was trapped in jobs that required heavy workload, and this was my story.

What’s the purpose of life? I found myself asking.

I was frustrated that I wasn't smart enough to figure that out…

Here is the perfect solution if you feel physically too weak to do more Reiki sessions

When I was 22 fresh out of college with a degree from UW-River Falls in Animal Science emphasis on poultry 🥚 the most frustrating part of my life wasn't the fact that I was going to work in a chicken house with dust and feathers everywhere but rather that I woke up even with 8 or more hours of sleep feeling totally exhausted and with more anxiety than a 22 year old with a dream job and steady income than one should have.  

Being the career driven person that I am, I went on this journey to figure out how to get more energy, strength, and stable emotions. I started studying from books, Reiki practitioners, chiropractors, yoga instructors, life coaches, and other peers who had the leadership I desired. I started to study how nutrition, lifestyle choices, a 12 step program, meditation, yoga, energy healing, and spirituality would help improve the body's ability to perform well and become stronger and perform well in my dream career.

Throughout my 8 year health journey I noticed I would sabotage my success with poor coping mechanisms like overheating, worrying, not meeting a mentor's expectations, isolating, I would feel ashamed for not meeting societal expectations.  The most frustrating thing was addiction to sugar and binge eating.  Part of my mind thought it's OK, I'll figure out how to detoxify this later with a 24 or 48 hour detox cleanse and not eat. All of these things taught me what didn't work and gave me crystal clear clarity for today. 

After becoming a certified holistic nutrition coach at the Indiana University School of Medicine and working more closely with my functional medicine doctor I found out the truth was I just didn't have enough information on what was happening within my body and know myself enough for what was causing this extreme fatigue, hunger, and binging.

Sometimes, it was because my body needed more nourishment because I was working out so hard, sometimes it was an imbalance of macronutrients or a microflora imbalance.

I would have never ever been able to feel as strong and capable as I am today if it wasn't for *continued in comments

The most important thing to do first thing in the morning for your body and longevity of energy for your day as a Reiki practitioner

As a Reiki practitioner and yoga teacher, I used to wake up with muscle cramps, low motivation, and energy and random headaches that required tylenol. I can safely say that a cold or flu or any bodily discomfort is mighty mighty rare. So I'm no longer missing reiki appointments or yoga classes and stressing about missing appointments and the financial burdens that go with it.

The 1st thing to ingest each morning within 10 minutes of waking is a warm 32 oz glass of filtered water with a squeeze of lemon juice. 💧

Fill glasses and bottles up with 132 oz before bed each night and leave a few bottles set out on the counter so they're waiting for you at a room temp each morning. ⏰

Take the water bottles with you everywhere. And if you watch my snap chat or stories, you see me not just sipping water. Instead of sipping, take big gulps!!

Increased water intake is just another factor that co incincids with my indubitably rad life experience and really helps my mental clarity during Reiki to offer more intuitive readings....And opportunity to visit bathrooms 🤷‍♀️

Intuition, energy, and confidence as a Reiki practitioners from saying I can't have that food or I need to restrict myself 

The key is saying more YES to what promotes mental clarity, energy, and wealth

Long-term happiness is usually never from something that gives instant gratification. It's doing something that seems mundane, challenging, awkward, usually if it's avoided, it's the very thing that is required to the long-term goals. pssssst. At first….

It's not always going to suck. Eventually, you'll grow to love your different food choices, habits, and self care work.

So the simple answer to this is, say, more YES🤔 

My functional medicine doctor told me after several hormone tests and a three hour life history examination that if I wanted mental clarity, energy, and to tone up I required killing off some nasty gut bacteria like SEBO and candida. 

There is lots of cool science here, so I'll share. The reason I was still slightly pudgy, needed caffeine most days, had sugar and caffeine addictions, and had stress even after doing macro counting, even with nearly 2 hours in the gym daily is because my hormones were out of balance.

My body was under producing testosterone and serotonin. These hormones directly affect mood, memory, and the fat I could not lose around my waist, jaws, and arms. 

He told me the most important thing was not to feed the Sebo or candida. Starve them. The way to do this FUEL the bacteria so stinking much that the good bacteria grow. Those good gut buddies are what produce serotonin and testosterone hormones. 

I hear you already…"Val please just tell me how to fuel the good. Enough science already gets on with what I do to fuel these good bacteria that will help me feel and perform better. I am an on the go small business owner. I don't have time to be messing around with all the tiny teeny details. TELL ME WHAT TO EAT ALREADY!"

Growing up on the farm there was always something to be done around there. Anything from a loose nail to hammer down, a fense to tighten, animals that could be given more attention, or hay that kept growing needing cut any moments notice depending on weather. In college days too I felt like I was buried in homework and couldn't get in enough studying done being a C average student I thought if i spent more time studying I'd get better grades.

It got to the point in my big kid job and the business I created where I would feel guilty if I wasn't working or producing. I just felt like time away on vacation, time to relax in the evenings, even stopping work right at 5pm to make it to a yoga class was somehow a guilt trip because I very rarely saw other business owners or my co workers taking time out of their day for those "lazy people" things.

In my business I really struggled as most start up business's to break even. I knew what I needed to do I just didn't have the energy to get everything I wanted done. I would stay up late working on projects, feeling burnt out for assignments, and I felt uninspired to make connections with people I could offer solutions too.

I didn't know what to do. I had this desire burning in my soul to do my work my brain and body just weren't cooperating with me.
The pandemic gave me the opportunity to really focus on getting me well. I focused on my nutrition, my daily morning ritual, adequate sleep, working out, and in the other 4 to 5 hours worked my business.
In those 4 to 5 hours I was sooo lit. Soul in love with the work, my clients, the creating results for the people I worked with, writing content. This also brought about more clients and helped me stay financially stable.
I enjoy the time I use putting focus on myself its nonnegotiable time because it give me the vibration I desire to benefit to the people I get to work with and how it moves the revenue and performance of my business. I have enough time to meal prep, I have enough time for yoga, for working out, for self Reiki
