Our residents at Wilkes Assisted Living had a wonderful time this past week getting ready for Easter! From dyeing eggs to filling them for a fun egg hunt, it was a busy week that brought lots of joy. 🐣🌷

Last week, we said a heartfelt goodbye to our beloved therapist, Emily Langenstein.

Over the past 6 years, Emily has brought so much care, laughter, and friendship to our community, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she’s given. She will be greatly missed by both our residents and staff!

Wishing her all the very best in this next chapter. We know she’ll do amazing things! 💙

Wilkes Assisted Living participated in Hearts Across America this year! 💌 Our residents created over 50 Valentine’s cards to send to facilities across the country. As we received cards in return, we tracked each state on a map with stickers. Watching it fill up has been so exciting! ✨❤️

Meet the wonderful voice on the other end of the line, our amazing receptionist, Effie Billings! ✨

Effie has been part of our team for nearly 10 years and was our very first receptionist. She greets everyone with a warm smile and always has an encouraging word to share.

Effie is a proud mom of one son and one daughter, a loving grandmother to five grandchildren, and a great-grandmother to one precious great-grandchild. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and going to church.

Wilkes Assisted Living truly wouldn’t be the same without Effie. She is deeply loved by both our residents and staff, and we’re so grateful to have her as part of our family! 💙

Please join us in congratulating Scotty Royal, our January Employee of the Month at Wilkes Assisted Living! Scotty serves as our Guest Care Coordinator and has been a dedicated member of our team for 12 years. Over the years, he has worn many hats, including Med Tech and Kitchen Manager, always stepping up wherever he’s needed.

Outside of work, Scotty enjoys farming and is excited to welcome his first grandchild in 2026. Thank you, Scotty, for your years of hard work, dedication, and commitment—you are truly a valued asset to our team! 👏💙
