being called to something as powerful as midwifery

it’s hard to put into words what it means to be with women and to carry such space for them and their journey bringing babies into this world.
I feel like I have so much to learn and while i’m so eager, I am enjoying the time and space to slowly gain the knowledge I will one day rely on.
I wake up each day and pray for opportunities to learn something new, I strive to say yes as much as I can for I know that one day I might be on my own and will have to help make split second decisions that could be life threatening.
birth overseas is nothing like it is here but what an honor to get to gain experience and skills here before the Lord calls us elsewhere.
As hard as this dream is, I wouldn’t change it for the world.

NEWBORN RESUSCITATION✨
in utero your baby’s placenta provides 100% of its oxygen supply through the umbilical cord. When a baby is born, they need to clear the amniotic fluid that occupies their lungs, to make room for air. Most babies have no issues doing this. That squeeze through the birth canal often excretes this fluid and they will let out a big cry and the pressure from that inhalation forces fluid out. Some babies just need a little extra time or some help to clear that fluid. What i love about midwifery care is the autonomy we give back to the mothers. In this photo you can see that we didn’t whisk baby away, instilling potential fear, panic and division. Instead we kept that cord intact and gave baby gentle breaths right on mommas chest. I share this to bring normalcy and beauty to birth emergencies.

Hi! I am so excited to finally start my journey with midwifery.
This page is dedicated to all things birth related and I will be advertising for birth photography + video along with doula and childbirth education.
Birth for the nations started way back when I was a young girl and was obsessed with babies and birth. Growing up on a farm and with a large extended family, I loved helping our animals give birth and hearing all the birth stories from all my aunts and women in my life.
The desire to be a midwife began when I went to Uganda, Africa and served in a clinic and school. I was honored to help a woman give birth and I was forever changed. It was a mix of being traumatizad by how the culture perceived birth. I knew it had to be different and was determined to explore the desire to learn as much as I could about how women’s bodies work and how birth was designed.
I am ready to join you in your sacred space in whatever way you desire. I will strive to help you gather knowledge and encourage you. I will remind you of your goals and values. I will honor the decisions that you make for your family and be your biggest advocate.
I will support you in your moments of vulnerability and in your moments of strength. I will listen with compassion and serve you with my hands and my heart.
